Olde Homestead Golf Club

New Tripoli, Pennsylvania, USALehigh Valley

Olde Homestead Golf Club challenges players with a true links-style 18-hole layout spread across open terrain in New Tripoli, Pennsylvania. Its broad fairways, wind-exposed conditions, and strategic bunkering create an inviting yet testing experience for golfers of varied abilities.

Course Overview

Olde Homestead Golf Club offers an engaging 18-hole public layout that beckons golfers across skill levels to test their mettle on a predominantly links-style course. Situated in the rolling terrain of New Tripoli, Pennsylvania, this course captures both the expansive openness of traditional links golf and the distinctive character of the local landscape. The holes are spread over gently undulating fairways that challenge shot shaping and strategic thinking, while wide-open vistas bring a refreshing sense of space rarely found outside coastal environments.

The course delivers varied playing conditions influenced by prevailing winds that reward thoughtful club selection and controlled tempo. Fairways present a generous landing area, making the course approachable, yet well-placed bunkers guard the greens with enough bite to punish imprecision. This balance of risk and reward appeals to intermediate players seeking consistency and low handicappers craving a test of accuracy.

Olde Homestead’s setting is largely open with pockets of natural grassland and native foliage that frame holes without constricting play. The absence of dense tree lines keeps the course airy and exposes players to the wind’s subtle shifts—an element that enriches the strategic dimension of your round. Greens hold subtle breaks that invite careful reading rather than overpowering difficulty, fitting neatly with the overall flow of the course.

Amenities support a visitor-friendly environment, including a well-maintained practice area for warm-ups and a welcoming clubhouse that offers casual dining and golf shop services. The club draws regular local play and remains a focal point in the Lehigh Valley region, respected for its blend of accessible design and competitive challenge.

Golfers visiting Olde Homestead should prepare for a course that rewards precision and punishes overconfidence, with a playing surface that encourages engagement from drive to putt. Walking the course allows you to feel the changing breeze and peer over the gently rolling landscape, making each hole an evolving experience. For those seeking a public course with a measurable test and a quietly compelling landscape, Olde Homestead Golf Club remains a worthy destination.

Course Highlights

The course's signature characteristic lies in its broad, wind-swept fairways framed by native grasses and natural rough. Bunkers are designed to challenge placement rather than volume, while the subtle undulations of the greens demand careful strokes. The overall design promotes strategic golf over brute force, distinguishing Olde Homestead from more densely wooded regional layouts.

Olde Homestead was a place I used to come to as a young lad growing up. One the Mecca of public courses in the Lehigh valley, It was always in pristine condition no matter what time of year it was. Since moving away 10 years ago, my hometown friends and I pick a weekend and come back to play it once a year. We always look forward to it. The last few years I’ve noticed the grounds crew’s art has been lacking. This year was the worst one yet. Trash overflowing. Divots covering the fairways and tee boxes. Greens like carpet. Sand traps made with crushed up Pennsylvania shale. I was deeply disappointed and we all agreed next year we would be picking a different beloved Lehigh valley public course. The only reason why I gave it 2 stars was because I broke 80. For all those who still have the imagine of the pristine course it once was, I hope it improves.

Had the privilege of having my wedding here and the Olde Homestead did not disappoint!!! From the first visit, to the last details of the wedding day everything was smooth, easy, and very well organized. Once my now wife and I arrived to check it out we knew it was the place to start the rest of our lives together. The view and landscape is gorgeous! Plus the options for wedding venues are perfect! We chose the Carriage House for the privacy and view for the ceremony and it was exactly what we wanted. The entire staff was so kind and helpful and it made the wedding day go off without a hitch. My wife and I are so grateful we found the Olde Homestead and I highly recommend them for any event! Big side note, the food is absolutely delicious. Every last piece was top notch and I know the guests loved it…I sure did! Thank you for providing a beautiful spot to get married!!

Very cool course with a lot of unique holes. However, the tee boxes were in poor condition, the sand traps had rocks in them, and the starter was the rudest I’ve ever encountered at a course.

We had our wedding at the Carriage House location of the Olde Homestead 6/7/2025 and it was a magical, perfect, amazing day that went absolutely seamlessly. Everyone there was incredibly professional and communicative. Our day had many shifts in weather and the event managers Diana and Breanna as well as the service staff did an amazing job and making everything come together. Breanna did an impeccable job taking such good care of my husband and I, as well as our guests and making sure everything was running smoothly. This venue is gorgeous and the property is breath taking. I wouldn’t have a wedding anywhere else.
