Olde Homestead Golf Club

New Tripoli, Pennsylvania, USALehigh Valley

Olde Homestead Golf Club offers a true links-style experience with wide open fairways and strategic bunkering in Pennsylvania’s Lehigh Valley. This public, 18-hole course strikes a balance between challenge and playability, rewarding accuracy and thoughtful course management.

Course Overview

Olde Homestead Golf Club, located just outside New Tripoli, Pennsylvania, offers an 18-hole public course that captures the spirited character of links-style golf in the heart of the Lehigh Valley. The layout unfolds across broad, open fairways flanked by native grasses and strategically placed bunkers made from local Pennsylvania shale. This design combines traditional elements with regionally inspired challenges, giving players a course that rewards well-placed shots and careful course management.

The landscape feels wide open and airy, with rolling ground that emphasizes shot shaping and creativity more than sheer power. Bunkers serve as quiet guardians to the greens, demanding precision on approach shots, while the subtle undulations of the putting surfaces test touch and patience. The overall routing plays with the natural rise and fall of the terrain, providing well-varied holes that shift from straightforward to demanding, making this course accessible to a broad range of golfers yet challenging enough to hold the interest of low handicappers.

Seasonal conditions typically have the course at its lushest in late spring through early fall, when the natural grasses brush softly against the fairways and the greens hold true. Walking is encouraged here; the generally flat topography and well-maintained paths make for a pleasant round on foot. The club’s public access status means players can experience championship-caliber holes in a relaxed setting, with friendly staff supporting a welcoming atmosphere.

The clubhouse offers essential amenities including a pro shop stocked for all needs and a casual dining area where golfers can unwind post-round. While recent feedback points to some fluctuations in course maintenance, the inherent design and location provide a distinct golf experience notable in the region.

Olde Homestead’s identity lies in its open, linksy feel that challenges strategic thinking rather than overwhelming distance. Players returning year after year find in these fairways a place that tests patience, rewards accuracy, and invites adventure, all framed by Pennsylvania’s changing seasons.

Course Highlights

The course showcases rolling terrain with well-varied holes that emphasize shot shaping. Its accessible layout invites golfers of all skill levels, while subtle green undulations and bunker placements maintain a competitive edge.

Had the privilege of having my wedding here and the Olde Homestead did not disappoint!!! From the first visit, to the last details of the wedding day everything was smooth, easy, and very well organized. Once my now wife and I arrived to check it out we knew it was the place to start the rest of our lives together. The view and landscape is gorgeous! Plus the options for wedding venues are perfect! We chose the Carriage House for the privacy and view for the ceremony and it was exactly what we wanted. The entire staff was so kind and helpful and it made the wedding day go off without a hitch. My wife and I are so grateful we found the Olde Homestead and I highly recommend them for any event! Big side note, the food is absolutely delicious. Every last piece was top notch and I know the guests loved it…I sure did! Thank you for providing a beautiful spot to get married!!

Great course. Very linksy. Wide open. But rewarding well placed shots. Why did I wait so long to play here?

Olde Homestead was a place I used to come to as a young lad growing up. One the Mecca of public courses in the Lehigh valley, It was always in pristine condition no matter what time of year it was. Since moving away 10 years ago, my hometown friends and I pick a weekend and come back to play it once a year. We always look forward to it. The last few years I’ve noticed the grounds crew’s art has been lacking. This year was the worst one yet. Trash overflowing. Divots covering the fairways and tee boxes. Greens like carpet. Sand traps made with crushed up Pennsylvania shale. I was deeply disappointed and we all agreed next year we would be picking a different beloved Lehigh valley public course. The only reason why I gave it 2 stars was because I broke 80. For all those who still have the imagine of the pristine course it once was, I hope it improves.

Very cool course with a lot of unique holes. However, the tee boxes were in poor condition, the sand traps had rocks in them, and the starter was the rudest I’ve ever encountered at a course.

We had our wedding at the Carriage House location of the Olde Homestead 6/7/2025 and it was a magical, perfect, amazing day that went absolutely seamlessly. Everyone there was incredibly professional and communicative. Our day had many shifts in weather and the event managers Diana and Breanna as well as the service staff did an amazing job and making everything come together. Breanna did an impeccable job taking such good care of my husband and I, as well as our guests and making sure everything was running smoothly. This venue is gorgeous and the property is breath taking. I wouldn’t have a wedding anywhere else.
