Edgewood Tahoe Resort presents a mountain golf experience set along Lake Tahoe’s shore with an 18-hole championship course that combines scenic alpine views, strategic hazards, and playability for a broad range of golfers. A private resort course offering refined amenities and an immersive natural setting.

Course Overview

Edgewood Tahoe Resort offers a distinctive golf experience set against the dramatic backdrop of Lake Tahoe’s crystalline waters and towering Sierra Nevada peaks. This 18-hole championship course blends natural mountain terrain with meticulous craftsmanship, delivering an approachable yet stimulating layout that welcomes golfers of varying skill levels. The course stretches over 7,100 yards with a par of 72, challenging players with well-placed bunkers, strategic water hazards, and subtle elevation changes that reward thoughtful shot selection.

Designed to harmonize with its alpine surroundings, Edgewood’s routing takes golfers through a range of scenery—from dense stands of pine to open fairways that frame sweeping lake views. The greens are firm and true, encouraging a paced and precise putting game, while the fairways are generally generous, aiding in playability for mid to high handicappers. However, the persistent mountain winds add a layer of complexity, demanding adaptability and control throughout your round.

The resort operates as a private club with exclusive access to members and their guests, emphasizing personalized service that complements the refined course environment. Amenities include a well-appointed clubhouse featuring dining options with panoramic views of the lake, a full pro shop, practice facilities, and professional instruction. Visitors will find the course inviting yet testing, suited for those seeking a mountain golf experience that balances scenic grandeur with competitive play elements.

Carts are available but walking is also encouraged, allowing golfers to absorb the crisp alpine air and natural contours underfoot. Due to the elevation and sometimes variable weather conditions, carrying layered clothing and quality footwear is recommended. Peak playing seasons typically run from late spring through early fall, when the course is in prime condition and the vistas are at their most vivid.

Whether it’s a leisurely round soaking in the tranquility or a focused game that challenges your technique, Edgewood Tahoe Resort provides a singular destination. The interplay between rugged mountain beauty and carefully maintained grounds crafts an experience that appeals to both casual players and dedicated golfers searching for a memorable mountain course.

Course Highlights

The course weaves through mountain forest and opens to spectacular lakefront holes, including challenging water carry shots and elevation shifts that test club selection and accuracy. Large, well-contoured greens paired with strategic bunkering create engaging putting challenges. The surrounding Sierra Nevada scenery is a constant visual companion throughout the round.

The service at this hotel was excellent. Everyone was incredibly friendly. What impressed me the most was the jacuzzi. We visited around Christmas when it was snowing, and soaking in the warm jacuzzi with that view was truly amazing. The heated pool was also very nice. The food was just okay, nothing particularly memorable. The room was a bit small, but it was very clean and had a fireplace, which we really loved. The lobby was spacious and comfortable. While the price was on the higher side, the overall experience was very relaxing and enjoyable. I would definitely recommend it, especially during winter.

After a long and stressful week, my husband and I decided last minute to book a weekend getaway. He called Edgewood Resort and spoke with Troy at the front desk, who was incredibly kind, helpful, and informative. Troy made the booking process so easy and stress-free, and we’re so grateful for his help. From the moment we entered the hotel, the atmosphere was calm and relaxing—you could immediately see the attention to detail throughout the property. We arrived late Friday night, and the front desk staff were just as welcoming and efficient at check-in. Our room was absolutely pristine—so clean and beautifully maintained. Every time we were downstairs enjoying coffee or a cocktail, the staff checked in with us to make sure we were doing okay, which made us feel truly cared for. We had breakfast at the bistro; the coffee was fantastic, and the breakfast itself was good. We also had lunch at Brooks, where we enjoyed a salad and a sandwich—both were excellent, and dining while overlooking the golf course was such a treat. I could go on and on about how wonderful our stay was. Everything was just perfect: the service, the setting, the comfort. You truly can’t beat the location either. We had a relaxing, amazing weekend and we absolutely cannot wait to return!

Absolutely breathtaking place. The views of the lake, especially at sunset, are unforgettable. The whole atmosphere feels peaceful and luxurious without being over the top. I had such an amazing time just relaxing by the water, soaking in the beauty all around me. Everything from the service to the scenery made this stay one to remember. Can’t wait to come back!

My wife and I recently stayed at Edgewood Resort on Monday and Tuesday to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Our reservation, at a rate of over $1,100 per night, was made with the expectation of enjoying all the amenities a four-star resort offers. Upon booking, we were not informed that the gourmet lakeside Edge Restaurant would be closed or that we would have no access to the golf course, including practice areas. Each time we brought these issues to the attention to staff, we were told, "Someone should have informed you." We were also repeatedly told that the "upside" was being part of a special celebrity golf tournament. We were instructed to pick up passes on Wednesday morning to walk the course, only to be denied access upon checkout because we were leaving. When I requested to speak with the manager, I was told that the celebrity golf tournament took priority over hotel guests and that nothing could be done. While our room was very nice, the overall customer service, hospitality, and staff accountability were far below the standards expected of a four-star resort. The hotel failed significantly in these aspects. The one exception to our disappointing experience was Matt, our server at the Bistro, whose service was exceptional.

I’ve never stayed anywhere this nice. The grounds are beautiful. The entire area is breathtaking. The resort is amazing, for many reasons, but especially because of the world-class staff. Each interaction with a staff member was positive, and each person represented the resort with professional, graciousness and appreciation. Please do yourself a favor and get in their spa! The time I spent in there, and especially the massage, was worth every second! I should’ve spent more time there, especially in the steam bath and hot tub. Both were awesome! The exterior heated pool and hot tub are beautiful, and you’re crazy if you don’t get in both, especially around sunset! Felt like a dream!
