Edgewood Tahoe Golf Links: A Lakeside Challenge in Stateline, NV

Stateline, Nevada, USALake Tahoe Region

Edgewood Tahoe Resort features an 18-hole, championship-length golf course set along the shores of Lake Tahoe. The layout mixes parkland and mountain golf elements, offering a balanced test for golfers amid stunning water and forest views.

Course Overview

Edgewood Tahoe Resort offers an 18-hole championship golf experience set against the dramatic backdrop of Lake Tahoe's shimmering waters and forested slopes. This public, resort-style course is designed to challenge golfers of various abilities without sacrificing approachability. The layout unfolds across gently rolling terrain, combining elements of parkland and mountain golf, with wide fairways framed by towering pines and strategically placed bunkers that test accuracy off the tee.

From the first tee to the 18th green, Edgewood Tahoe crafts a narrative of measured difficulty and scenic variety. The course plays to a par of 72 and stretches just over 7,000 yards from the back tees, with multiple teeing options that make it accessible for both mid and low handicappers. Each hole balances playability with thoughtful risk-reward scenarios, encouraging players to weigh their shots carefully while enjoying uninterrupted views of the lake and surrounding landscape.

The signature par-5 eighth hole captures the essence of the course – it demands distance and precision, with fairways sloping toward the lake, inviting bold drives yet penalizing errant shots with hazard-filled rough and well-positioned bunkers. The greens at Edgewood Tahoe are firm but receptive, shaped to hold well-mannered approach shots while rewarding savvy putting.

Amenities at the resort include a well-appointed clubhouse with dining facilities overlooking the course and Lake Tahoe’s iconic blue expanse. Practice areas provide ample opportunity to warm up or refine your short game before heading out. Whether you’re a visiting resort guest or a local golfer, Edgewood Tahoe offers a seamless blend of challenge, natural beauty, and comfort.

Players should prepare for variable mountain weather and some elevation changes throughout the round. Walking is permitted and rewarding, though many opt for carts given the course’s length and rolling character. The setting is as much a part of the game here as the greens and fairways, making Edgewood Tahoe a destination where golf and nature are equally at play.

Course Highlights

Edgewood Tahoe’s layout offers a signature mix of mountain and lakefront holes, with panoramic views of Lake Tahoe enhancing the strategic challenge. The par-5 eighth hole stands out for its risk-reward design and lakeside hazard consideration. Elevation shifts combined with tree-lined fairways create varied shot selections, embedding natural features organically within the course.

After a long and stressful week, my husband and I decided last minute to book a weekend getaway. He called Edgewood Resort and spoke with Troy at the front desk, who was incredibly kind, helpful, and informative. Troy made the booking process so easy and stress-free, and we’re so grateful for his help. From the moment we entered the hotel, the atmosphere was calm and relaxing—you could immediately see the attention to detail throughout the property. We arrived late Friday night, and the front desk staff were just as welcoming and efficient at check-in. Our room was absolutely pristine—so clean and beautifully maintained. Every time we were downstairs enjoying coffee or a cocktail, the staff checked in with us to make sure we were doing okay, which made us feel truly cared for. We had breakfast at the bistro; the coffee was fantastic, and the breakfast itself was good. We also had lunch at Brooks, where we enjoyed a salad and a sandwich—both were excellent, and dining while overlooking the golf course was such a treat. I could go on and on about how wonderful our stay was. Everything was just perfect: the service, the setting, the comfort. You truly can’t beat the location either. We had a relaxing, amazing weekend and we absolutely cannot wait to return!

Absolutely breathtaking place. The views of the lake, especially at sunset, are unforgettable. The whole atmosphere feels peaceful and luxurious without being over the top. I had such an amazing time just relaxing by the water, soaking in the beauty all around me. Everything from the service to the scenery made this stay one to remember. Can’t wait to come back!

The service at this hotel was excellent. Everyone was incredibly friendly. What impressed me the most was the jacuzzi. We visited around Christmas when it was snowing, and soaking in the warm jacuzzi with that view was truly amazing. The heated pool was also very nice. The food was just okay, nothing particularly memorable. The room was a bit small, but it was very clean and had a fireplace, which we really loved. The lobby was spacious and comfortable. While the price was on the higher side, the overall experience was very relaxing and enjoyable. I would definitely recommend it, especially during winter.

My wife and I recently stayed at Edgewood Resort on Monday and Tuesday to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Our reservation, at a rate of over $1,100 per night, was made with the expectation of enjoying all the amenities a four-star resort offers. Upon booking, we were not informed that the gourmet lakeside Edge Restaurant would be closed or that we would have no access to the golf course, including practice areas. Each time we brought these issues to the attention to staff, we were told, "Someone should have informed you." We were also repeatedly told that the "upside" was being part of a special celebrity golf tournament. We were instructed to pick up passes on Wednesday morning to walk the course, only to be denied access upon checkout because we were leaving. When I requested to speak with the manager, I was told that the celebrity golf tournament took priority over hotel guests and that nothing could be done. While our room was very nice, the overall customer service, hospitality, and staff accountability were far below the standards expected of a four-star resort. The hotel failed significantly in these aspects. The one exception to our disappointing experience was Matt, our server at the Bistro, whose service was exceptional.

I’ve never stayed anywhere this nice. The grounds are beautiful. The entire area is breathtaking. The resort is amazing, for many reasons, but especially because of the world-class staff. Each interaction with a staff member was positive, and each person represented the resort with professional, graciousness and appreciation. Please do yourself a favor and get in their spa! The time I spent in there, and especially the massage, was worth every second! I should’ve spent more time there, especially in the steam bath and hot tub. Both were awesome! The exterior heated pool and hot tub are beautiful, and you’re crazy if you don’t get in both, especially around sunset! Felt like a dream!
