Osage National Golf Course

Lake Ozark, Missouri, USALake of the Ozarks

Offering three distinctive nine-hole courses, Osage National Golf Course near Lake Ozark challenges players with a diverse blend of mountain terrain, open links-style holes, and traditional parkland fairways. This 27-hole layout balances accessibility with strategic variety in a scenic Missouri setting.

Course Overview

Osage National Golf Course, located just outside Lake Ozark, Missouri, offers a distinctive golf experience composed of three separate nine-hole courses, each delivering unique challenges and landscapes. The trio includes the Mountain Course, Links Course, and Traditional Course, together providing a full 27-hole layout that caters to a wide range of skill levels and playing styles.

The Mountain Course stands out with its elevation changes and panoramic views, inviting golfers to tackle undulating fairways surrounded by mature trees and natural rock formations. It demands thoughtful club selection and shot placement, rewarding precision and strategic play. Contrasting this is the Links Course, which channels a more open, windy style reminiscent of coastal golf. Here, wide fairways give way to firm, fast greens guarded by bunkers that encourage creativity and shot shaping. The Traditional Course offers a balanced mix, weaving through gently rolling terrain with tree-lined holes, making it approachable for mid to high handicappers without sacrificing depth for seasoned players.

Maintained with care and attention, Osage National’s fairways and greens offer consistent playing conditions throughout the season. Cart paths run throughout all courses, making the layout accessible even on wetter days, though walking remains a popular choice to fully engage with the natural setting. The topography and varying layouts invite repeat play, as each nine-hole combination creates a different test.

Amenities at Osage National include a well-stocked pro shop that offers rental clubs and the latest gear, plus a driving range and putting green accessible for warm-ups prior to rounds. Staff are noted for their friendly and accommodating service, enhancing the overall experience for visitors and members alike.

Whether playing a quick nine or a full round across multiple courses, golfers can expect a varied and thoughtfully designed environment. The combination of mountain scenery, open links-style holes, and classic parkland styling ensures Osage National stands out as a premier golfing destination in the Lake of the Ozarks region. For players seeking both challenge and recreation, this course delivers a spirited encounter with Missouri’s natural beauty and golf heritage.

Course Highlights

Great service and staff. Nice driving range and putting green available for free if you play there. They have three nine hole courses there and we played the mountain course and links course which were both great. Very well maintained. Probably the one of the nicest golf courses at the Lake of the Ozarks.

One of the best courses in the nation, and hands down the best course in the Ozarks. The scenery is absolutely beautiful. The course is fun but challenging at the same time.

Beautiful course. Plays long. Very expensive. Try some other local courses if you are a 10+ handicap. I love Ledgestone for the price.

Played a 4 ball for my bachelor party. In the pouring rain for the back 9. Wide open course and cart path only. It was a blast. Most fun I have had on a course in a long time. Guy at the pro shop was really kind. Loved the challenging layout and design. Rental clubs are good quality. We bought some cool Osage National golf polos, thanks for the memories. My first ever round of golf in Missouri!

What was supposed to be a great round of golf on our 3rd day of playing different courses in the Ozarks turned out to be a terrible experience thanks to Dave (pictured) and Tom. Between these 2 course Nazis we were rushed the whole time by the GPS on the carts, the ranger, and by Tom and Dave the whole time we golfed. We went aloud to have a 5-some so they split us up and paired 2 of our guys with 2 guys that work at the course. We got our carts locked up by their GPS system multiple times and once one of our carts was locked solid for over 10 minutes. Thank goodness some local members came along and called the office and got us unlocked so we could continue playing. Mind you, this got locked up on a cart path. We offered to let the locals play through and they wouldn't. They said they weren't in a hurry and to take our time as it was our first time here. The cart GPS kept telling us to pick up our pace. One of our guys was so mad about being paired up with the course workers her wanted to leave at the end of 9 holes so the other guy wanted to join us at the turn to make us a 4-some. So at the turn we came to the clubhouse and talked to the cart guys and told them what was going on and asked if it would be a problem if we waited. They said no problem, go inside and grab a beverage and a bite to eat and they would get us going after they joined us and make the back 9 a better experience. We went in and grabbed a bite, which was a very overpriced dried out burger and a Powerade (no alcohol was consumed by our group the whole day BTW). As I was eating my dried out burger Nazi Dave came over and told us we needed to get back out there. I explained we were waiting to pick up our 4th guy and he still barked that we needed to get moving. Meanwhile the locals that were behind us came into the clubhouse and were offered a menu by the staff to order from. We go outside and as our guys come up the hill. Before we could even see what was going on Tom comes out on the deck and starts telling us to either get back out there or leave. He had 3 holes with no one on them so if we were going we needed to go now. I tried to explain what was going on and he said he didn't care he had 3 holes that needed to be filled. We proceeded as a 3-some to the next hole and our other 2 decided to continue to play with the course workers as well. We then started playing a best ball format to help speed up our play. We were playing at a fast clip and yet the cart GPS kept telling us we were behind and needed to pick up the pace. On one of the back holes a ranger came by and said "hey, Dave called him and said you are doing a good job with your pace" and yet our cart keeps telling us we were 11 minutes behind pace. Now, here's some fun info, while we are playing we saw 2 5-somes and even a 6-some playing the course! There was also no one behind us for several holes and no one ahead of us ether. We kept up our best ball pace and on the 8th hole we finally came up on a 4-some. We had to wait on them to finish their hole only to find out it was our other 2 guys and the course workers that somehow got ahead of us and we caught them. We finished our round and went back to the clubhouse to find our guys had 2 more holes to play still. I went into the clubhouse to the pro shop and waited until no one else was in there to talk to Dave about our experience. I informed him that they have a great course, the cart guys, ranger and bar staff were friendly but because of him and Tom we would never be back to play this course! The two of them made this a miserable experience! There were so many ways this could have been handled and still make it a fun day but they choose to be dicks the whole time. I guess they are just sour on life because they didn't have what it takes to be a professional golfer on tour and they have to take it out on the rest of us and show everyone that they are the big shots around there. Well, Tom and Dave, I will never be back and I'll make it my mission to let everyone I come in contact with know about you and how you treat people.
