This private course invites seasoned golfers to challenge themselves on a layout that combines strategic shot-making with scenic views stretching across woodlands and open fields.

Copake’s course demands thoughtful navigation from the first tee. Elevation shifts play a central role throughout, influencing club selection and shot trajectory, while smaller, old-school greens reward precision over power. Came for the first time. Had to walk the course because they weren't allowing carts out... not even cart path only, which made no sense at all especially since they allowed carts out right after we started our round. That was fairly annoying. The course has quite a bit of elevation change... would have been much more enjoyable in a cart. We ran into some locals while playing which gave me the most outrageous experience I've ever had on the course and won't go any further into detail. The course itself is really nice and has great views of the surrounding area. I plan to come back and try to course out sometime hopefully with a cart.

On Sunday May 25, I attended a celebration of life for a good friend don tacino. The food that was served was absolutely fantastic. The prime rib, chicken, fish, along with the earlier food of shrimp, clams oysters etc. was out of this world and the staff did an outstanding job of taking care of everyone. Hats off to all the staff at the " Greens" for making it a truly great time.

Great course layout, service, bar and restaurant. Really nice views. Tee boxes, cart paths and greens leave a little to be desired for the cost. Many tee boxes are small and sloped and several cart paths are really bumpy. A few of the extremely hilly greens you cannot tell where fringe ends and green begins and there were a few bare spots though most were in decent shape. The course lacks signage for getting to the next hole and a few spots we were unsure which way to go. We enjoyed ourselves all in all but felt the cost was a bit high at 95 for 18 with cart on the weekend given other courses that charge similarly do not have issues I mentioned.

Played Copake Lake a week ago. Fantastic staff that was very accommodating. The layout is impressive, with lots of elevation and smaller old school greens. Pace of play was an issue, some what do to conditions(long rough due to excessive rain). Would definitely make a return visit.
