Northlands Golf Course

North Vancouver, British Columbia, CanadaGreater Vancouver

Northlands Golf Course offers an engaging 18-hole public course marked by rolling elevation changes, framed by towering trees and panoramic local views. Challenging yet accessible, this North Vancouver layout welcomes players of all levels seeking a scenic round with strategic variety and dependable conditions.

Course Overview

Northlands Golf Course presents a rewarding 18-hole public layout that challenges golfers amid the lush, varied terrain of North Vancouver. The course’s hilly grounds demand thoughtful shot-making, with elevation changes shaping both club selection and strategy throughout a round. Golfers will find themselves navigating holes where undulating fairways rise and fall, requiring careful yardage management, and greens that subtly shift with the terrain’s contours.

Situated just a short drive from Vancouver’s urban center, Northlands offers striking views of the surrounding mountains and cityscape, setting a natural backdrop that enhances the experience without overwhelming play. Old-growth trees frame many holes, adding a scenic quality as well as a strategic element that shapes shot placement and approach angles.

This course is designed to suit a broad range of players. Its fairways provide enough width to accommodate higher handicaps, while the elevation-driven shot demands and well-maintained greens offer a solid challenge for more experienced golfers seeking to test their precision. Walkers should prepare for a hilly journey—the course’s slopes add an aerobic element to any round. Carts are available and strongly recommended, easing the physical demands and allowing golfers to focus on shot execution over terrain negotiation.

Northlands’ clubhouse, recently renovated, features a welcoming pro shop and a vibrant restaurant space where players can regroup and share stories after their round. The staff maintain the course in consistently excellent condition regardless of weather, allowing for an enjoyable experience year-round.

Though the course lacks a driving range, its on-course layout encourages creativity and adaptability with every shot. The absence of a dedicated practice facility means golfers often use the first few holes as a chance to warm up and settle into the course’s rhythm.

For those planning a visit, sturdy walking shoes and an early tee time are advisable to avoid afternoon humidity. The combination of natural beauty, thoughtful design, and accessible playability makes Northlands Golf Course a standout destination on the North Vancouver golf scene.

Course Highlights

The course’s signature characteristic is its varied elevation changes that test shot making and stamina. Mature trees and panoramic views of Vancouver add to the visual appeal, while well-kept, fast greens reward precision. The clubhouse is noted for its recent upgrades, enhancing the overall golfer experience.

I love this course, beautiful old trees, fresh air, nice greens. It's a fun course, I strongly suggest a power cart due to the hilly nature. Enjoy your round 🏌‍♀️🏌‍♀️

A public golf course in the middle of the mountains in North Vancouver. The scenery is nice and the difficulty is moderate. It is recommended to drive to play golf.

A beautiful view, great food and service just for lunch. Well priced which is a nice change from local eateries. Worth the visit, even just for lunch. Golf.is a bonus.

My local course - it’s challenging but extremely good public course. Don’t carry, it’s a hilly walk on many holes. Rain or shine it’s always in great condition. Recently renovated restaurant is amazing! My only knock is a lack of driving range (if they added some simulators that would be awesome).

Challenging course with beautiful terrain. The course was kept in amazing condition! The facilities were top notch, the course was close to Vancouver and the price was extremely reasonable considering the quality. Pro tip - get a golf cart. Lots of hills and difficult distance measurements for uphill and downhill greens. The course screen on the cart was very helpful.

Challenging course in a beautiful setting, located centrally in North Vancouver. Great views of Vancouver and the surrounding area. Professional staff, clean carts. I love this course, their pro shop and the restaurant.

Course was great, playing nice. No restaurant or any sort of food / drink was dissapointing. Worst part was the power hungry marshal who came up to us on 3 seperate occasions to pick up the pace. Nobody for 2 holes behind us and we were playing at a good pace yet he kept going on, even approached us while we were putting on the green. First time he told us we were “1 minute behind pace” after 5 holes, really? Put a dampener on a fun day.
