Links At Stono Ferry

Hollywood, South Carolina, USAGreater Charleston

Links At Stono Ferry offers an 18-hole public course where coastal Lowcountry landscapes meet smartly designed challenges. With river views, strategic bunkers, and approachable play, this course rewards thoughtful golfers seeking a well-maintained and scenic round near Charleston.

Course Overview

Located just a short drive from Charleston's historic core, Links At Stono Ferry presents an engaging 18-hole golf experience that blends coastal Lowcountry charm with strategic design. This public course invites golfers of varying skill levels to navigate its gently rolling terrain framed by marshes, river views, and native maritime forests. The layout favors thoughtful shot placement over brute distance, making it approachable for mid- and high-handicap players while still providing subtle challenges for more experienced golfers.

Stono Ferry’s course routing thoughtfully integrates natural features, with several holes weaving alongside the Stono River, where winds can influence club selection and timing. The fairways are wide enough to encourage aggressive play but are guarded by strategically placed bunkers and occasional wetlands that require careful attention off the tee. On approach, the greens are receptive and often subtly contoured, rewarding precise iron play. Notably, the stretch near the river offers a mix of longer par 4s and reachable par 5s where risk-reward shots come into play.

Maintenance levels have earned consistent praise from visitors, with well-manicured greens and fairways that hold the ball cleanly. While tee boxes show some signs of wear, overall conditioning remains a strong point. The practice facilities, including a well-kept driving range and putting area, support warm-up and skill refinement before heading out.

The clubhouse reflects modern amenities without losing sight of Southern hospitality, featuring a men’s locker room with showers and a casual dining spot serving traditional fare. Staff are noted for their courteous service and efficient handling of bookings, rental clubs, and on-course needs.

Ideal for both locals and travelers exploring the Charleston area, Links At Stono Ferry encourages walking to fully embrace the scenery and subtle challenges underfoot. Those planning a visit should bring comfortable footwear suitable for coastal terrain and account for changeable winds.

Overall, Stono Ferry offers a golf outing that balances enjoyable playability with a sense of place, capturing the Lowcountry’s mix of history and natural beauty in every round.

I played the Links at Stono Ferry a few years ago while on vacation at Edisto Beach. Conditions were very good and I really liked the overall look of the course. I'll definitely play there again when we are in the area!

I went to Stono Ferry for my bachelor trip with 17 guys. We played 2 rounds of golf - one Friday and one Saturday. We had a blast! The staff was very friendly. Taylor helped me iron out all the details months in advance and organized the carts with our names on them waiting for us out front each day. The course was in great condition but was cart path only due to all the rain. That is my only complaint but nothing could be done about that. I would definitely come back to Stono Ferry, it’s a great course!

Very nice course. Very nice pro staff. In great condition and well laid out course. Terrible rainy weather let to cart path only which was aweful. In my opinion it is way overpriced. Probably wouldn’t play again at $130

Me and a group of friends play a 3 day Ryder cup tournament every year and our first round was at stono this year. The course was in good shape despite the recent drought and the staff was more than accommodating and friendly. Would definitely recommend this course if you are visiting the Charleston area.

Greens were rolling good. Tee boxes could use some work. The practice green needs more holes cut. The clubhouse is spot-on with a. Men's locker room and shower. The course layout is spectacular and historic. Seemed somewhat overcrowded and slightly overpriced.

We played at Stono Ferry during my brother's bachelor party, and we had a great time. The staff made reserving tee times and rental clubs easy. Everything was organized for us. Everyone at the course was great. The course was interesting and challenging, especially the holes along the river. Clubhouse was great. Food and drinks hit the spot. I will definitely play here again when I am back in the area.

Taylor Massey charged the green in his flip flops on hole 18 while a party of 4 4-some were finishing 30 minutes ahead of pace to tell us to return carts. If you golf here be wary of this gremlin on 18. He’s watching you. And he’s unhappy because clearly hasn’t been laid in a while
