International Club of Myrtle Beach

Murrells Inlet, South Carolina, USAGrand Strand

International Club of Myrtle Beach offers an 18-hole public course that blends classic Carolina coastal style with accessible playability. Stretching over 7,000 yards, it challenges golfers of all levels with breezy conditions, strategic bunkering, and well-maintained greens.

Course Overview

The International Club of Myrtle Beach is a public 18-hole golf course located in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina, that marries coastal Carolina charm with a course design geared toward both challenge and enjoyment. Spanning just over 7,000 yards from the back tees, it offers a layout that balances length and strategic variety, making it accessible to a broad spectrum of golfers without sacrificing test-quality elements for low handicaps.

Set amidst gently rolling terrain, the course displays classic Carolina golf traits—broad fairways that encourage aggressive drives, well-positioned bunkers that demand precision, and Carolina-style bentgrass greens that invite careful approach play and delicate putting. The salt-tinged sea breezes subtly influence shot selection, adding a dynamic element that shifts as the day progresses. This interplay between wind and landscape ensures that a round here unfolds with subtle unpredictability.

Playability is a strong suit at the International Club, with multiple tee options catering to beginners and seasoned players alike. Fairway widths are generous but strategic, allowing players to experiment with different lines and recoveries. The greens’ moderate speed rewards thoughtful touch rather than sheer power, making it an engaging experience for those honing their short game.

Complementing the course is a well-appointed clubhouse featuring a full-service restaurant and pro shop, providing a comfortable retreat before or after play. Golf carts equipped with GPS enhance navigation across the sprawling grounds, although walking is encouraged for those who prefer to engage more closely with the course terrain.

Visitors praise the attentive staff and smooth pace of play, often completing rounds in under four and a half hours even on busy days. While recent renovations have focused on improving course conditions—especially tee boxes and fairways—players should be aware that some bunker faces and greens may vary in firmness depending on seasonal maintenance.

Whether planning a solo outing or a group trip, the International Club of Myrtle Beach offers a well-rounded public golf experience framed by natural Carolina beauty and a layout that challenges without overwhelming. It remains a worthy stop for those exploring the diverse golf offerings of the Grand Strand.

Course Highlights

The course features wide fairways contrasted by strategically placed bunkers and Carolina-style bentgrass greens that reward precision around the greens. Coastal winds subtly challenge players, while recent renovations have improved turf conditions, especially on tee boxes and fairways. The clubhouse amenities and GPS-equipped golf carts add convenience to the experience.

Had an excellent day on the course. Golf carts are extremely comfortable with GPS as well. Staff was very nice and a smooth operation. They do pair you as foursomes if you have less than 4. Pace was decent about 4 and a half hours on a busy Friday.

Have been here many times!! Love the place, but....played yesterday and the greens and tee boxes need a lot of work. I know they air raided recently but there appears to be a deeper fungus issue. Anyway, I hope they fix as it's my go to!

The staff were all terrific. Super friendly. Carts, restaurant, and pro shop were all top notch. The only downside is that the bunkers and greens were not in very good shape. Overall though, I would play again. We had a nice time.

Nice course with some challenging holes. It's a shame that they did away with the driving range for houses. Nice staff and a decent restaurant. My understanding is the new owner, who just purchased Rivers Edge (name escapes me) is planning on some major renovations.

Dad and I first played here in November 2017 and the course was a disaster. We decided to give it another try on Thursday, April 10, 2025, and wow, the course was in spectacular shape. We heard the course was under new ownership. We had a great time. Greens were excellent, fairways were beautiful, tee boxes were flat and well maintained. We were shocked with how well the course looked since the last time we played here. We’ll definitely be back!
