Pine Ridge Golf Club

Roundup, Montana, USAEastern Montana

Pine Ridge Golf Club in Roundup, Montana, offers a thoughtfully maintained 9-hole course featuring smooth greens and open fairways. The course elegantly blends approachable playability with natural prairie terrain, making it a welcome alternative for golfers seeking a relaxed, quality round outside the busy Billings area.

Course Overview

Pine Ridge Golf Club offers a refreshing compact golf experience located in Roundup, Montana. This 9-hole layout balances approachability with thoughtful challenge, fitting well for golfers seeking a relaxed round outside the busier play fields near Billings. The course unfolds across gently rolling plains with open fairways framed by native grasses and hardy prairie shrubs, reflecting the natural character of eastern Montana’s landscape.

Players will find Pine Ridge welcoming to most skill levels. While it is short in length compared to a regulation 18-hole course, the design demands accuracy and strategic shot placement. The greens are notably well-maintained and smooth, often praised by visitors as some of the best putting surfaces in the region. This nurtured putting terrain complements the course’s overall friendly layout, rewarding controlled iron play and deft touch around the greens.

The terrain offers subtle elevation changes, which, combined with the wide-open setting, leaves players exposed to prevailing winds that can gently influence their ball flight. This natural element adds an extra layer of consideration without overwhelming newer players. Pine Ridge keeps play flowing at a comfortable pace, making it ideal for a quick morning or afternoon round.

The clubhouse provides a welcoming atmosphere with a casual pro shop and rental options including golf carts and clubs, encouraging visitors without their own gear to enjoy their round. The staff’s attentive and friendly service enhances the overall experience, welcoming golfers who may be escaping more congested nearby courses.

For those planning a visit, sturdy footwear is recommended as walking the course involves some uneven ground typical of prairie terrain. Pine Ridge’s affordable pricing and relaxed pace invite players to savor every shot without pressure. This golf club captures the understated charm of Montana’s rural landscape while delivering an enjoyable, playable course suitable for locals and travelers alike.

Whether you’re looking to work on your short game, enjoy a casual day on the links, or explore golf away from packed destinations, Pine Ridge Golf Club presents a solid, well-kept venue where the spirit of the game remains front and center.

Course Highlights

This 9-hole course stands out for its exceptionally maintained greens and integration with native prairie land. It really is a fun little 9 hole course. Golf carts and other rentals are available. If you'd like to avoid the packed Billings courses, I highly recommend the drive out to Roundup.

First time back in many years. Right now, the greens are the best I have played at any course this year in the state. Fun course.

We loved this course, we would come from West of Billings and have always enjoyed it! But today they have gotten to expensive, people won’t drive from other places when they can golf closer to their home! But that is probably what the members wanted! The course was very nice, that is why we gave it 2 stars! Today we would give this course 5 stars, they lost many people to the cost they were charging! Their price is $35.00 for all the holes you want! Well worth the trip! Enjoy golfing in Roundup!,,,,
