Granite Links Golf Club

Quincy, Massachusetts, USAEastern Massachusetts

Granite Links Golf Club offers a unique 18-hole public course carved from an old granite quarry in Quincy, MA. Its rugged terrain and links-inspired design challenge golfers to navigate wind-swept fairways framed by rugged stone, while panoramic views of Boston’s skyline enhance a memorable New England golfing experience.

Course Overview

Granite Links Golf Club presents an 18-hole challenge shaped by its unique setting on a former granite quarry in Quincy, Massachusetts. This public course blends natural ruggedness with carefully crafted fairways and greens, offering golfers a distinctive round where elements of links-style golf meet the character of New England’s rocky coastline. The course’s design embraces elevation changes and exposed granite outcroppings, compelling players to navigate strategic tee shots while adapting to shifting winds that sweep across the exposed hillside.

The layout demands thoughtful shot selection, especially as fairways often funnel between massive stone walls and natural quarry cliffs. Bunkers are keenly placed to guard the greens, requiring precision around the putting surfaces that vary in contour and speed. Granite Links balances challenge with accessibility, making it suitable for a wide range of golfers – from novices discovering how ground game and wind influence play, to low handicappers seeking to test their shot-making and course management skills.

Scenic views stretch across Boston’s skyline and the surrounding landscape, rewarding every elevated perch with striking panoramas. The atmosphere feels expansive yet grounded, connecting players closely with the site’s industrial past through its rugged terrain and rocky features. Although the course carries a competitive edge, ample teeing options allow players to adjust for skill level and maximize enjoyment.

Amenities at Granite Links complement the golfing experience with a spacious clubhouse that serves as both social hub and relaxing retreat. The well-kept practice facilities provide areas for refining swing mechanics and short game finesse. Players are encouraged to embrace walking given the course’s natural undulations and the intimate scale that golf carts may not fully capture.

Planning a visit here means preparing for variable coastal New England weather, lightweight clubs for gusty holes, and taking time to soak in the contrast of raw stone against emerald turf. Granite Links delivers a memorable round marked by its distinctive terrain, thoughtful design, and a palpable link between nature’s raw texture and refined golf craftsmanship.

Course Highlights

The course's signature character comes from its integration with a former granite quarry, where elevated tees overlook dramatic stone cliffs and winds challenge every shot. Its blend of links-style fairways with New England’s natural granite formations sets it apart as a rare golf experience close to Boston. Notable holes include the quarry-encircled par-3 6th and the uphill finishing hole that climbs along exposed rock walls, demanding both power and accuracy.

As a wedding photographer, it is always a pleasure to photograph a wedding at Granite Links. Everything always goes so smoothly. The staff is super helpful with timing and golf cart rides for sunset. They run a seamless operation and it is much appreciated. In terms of photography, it's a dream! That view is like no other in the Boston area. Sunsets up on the hill are magical. The ruins also offer a unique look for your photos. Overall this is a fantastic venue and I would be happy to recommend it to anyone planning a wedding. Also, I don't know who coordinates the espresso martini ice sculpture I often see there but it looks awesome!

We can't say enough good things about our wedding at Granite Links! The service we received from our very first phone call all the way through our wedding day was well beyond any expectation we had. Ashley & Susan made sure our vision came to life and was executed flawlessly. The food was exceptional from cocktail hour all the way to the late-night snacks! It was truly the best night of our lives, and it none of it would have been possible without the amazing team at Granite Links!

We are Perla Images Cape Cod Wedding Photographers and shot an amazing wedding at Granite Links a year ago (and a few times before). The grounds, venue design and staff were just so incredible. Everything was well managed and beautiful and everything went off without a hitch! If you are getting married there I cannot recommend enough!

I only gave two stars for service when eating in the restaurant. The food is always great. Consistent, large portions and always nice and hot. The problem is the service. We have eaten there one day a week for the past three weeks and the service is consistently bad. Each time we order, we ask everything to be brought at once. Each time they bring the French fries before anything else…including the actual appetizers! Ask for extra ketchup, lemon or even another glass of water and you’ll wait 10 minutes or more or, you won’t even get it at all (happened each time we’ve been there). A customer should not have to ask for refills on water. There just seems to be a lack of urgency when a request is made for anything extra. The saving grace is that the food is amazing and thank you for that.

As a wedding photographer, I’ve had the opportunity to work at many venues, and Granite Links Golf Club is hands-down one of the most photogenic and well-run locations in the area. From a visual standpoint, the venue offers a perfect blend of natural beauty and architectural charm. The elevated ceremony site provides sweeping views of lush greenery and the Boston skyline in the distance — it’s a dream setting for golden hour portraits and candid ceremony moments. Even on an overcast day, the lighting remains soft and flattering, and the expansive open skies make every frame feel cinematic. The staff at Granite Links were incredibly accommodating and professional. They coordinated the day smoothly and gave vendors the space and time needed to do our jobs effectively. There was clear communication throughout, which made my workflow seamless and stress-free. Granite Links is a venue that truly elevates the storytelling of a wedding day. I always look forward to photographing here and would highly recommend it to any couple looking for a scenic and organized venue — and to fellow photographers seeking a location that naturally supports great work.
