Gatlinburg Golf Course
Gatlinburg Golf Course presents a mountain golf experience filled with striking elevation changes and dynamic play. Its 18 holes combine demanding terrain with well-maintained greens and a scenic setting perfect for adventurous golfers.
Course Overview
Gatlinburg Golf Course offers an engaging 18-hole mountain layout that challenges golfers both physically and mentally amid the scenic backdrop of Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. Its design takes full advantage of the natural topography, providing steep elevation changes that test shot-making precision and club selection at every turn. Golfers will find the uphill climbs and winding cart paths demanding yet rewarding, with panoramic views that unfold over each ridge and valley.
The course sets itself apart with its standout par-3 twelfth hole, a dramatic tee shot from an elevated perch that descends nearly 200 feet, requiring a confident swing and steady nerve. While the terrain elevates the challenge, the fairways and greens are maintained with care, offering consistent playing surfaces that respond well to well-placed approaches and strategic putting.
Though the mountain setting introduces several steep slopes and occasionally rugged cart paths, walking enthusiasts often embrace the opportunity to navigate the course on foot, immersing themselves in the surroundings while engaging their endurance. Deluxe carts equipped with GPS and Bluetooth speakers are available, creating a modern complement to the classic mountain golf experience.
Gatlinburg Golf Course is friendly to a wide range of skill levels, providing approachable fairways early on and more demanding holes on the back nine, where elevation and terrain demand thoughtful play. Players are advised to plan tee times in the early morning hours to enjoy smoother pacing, as the course tends to become busy as the day progresses.
The clubhouse, attractive and well-appointed, serves as a comfortable base with a café that offers a satisfying menu for post-round relaxation. Restrooms and water stations are conveniently found on both the front and back nine to keep players refreshed.
For golfers seeking a distinctive mountain round that balances enjoyment with a genuine test of skill, Gatlinburg Golf Course stands as a rewarding destination within the scenic landscape of the Smoky Mountains region.

Fun mountain course! Played 18 March 2025 so grass was still dormant and half the holes cart path only. Very clean and beautiful facility. Bathrooms on both backside with a water fill station on the front. Club House is very pretty with a great menu. Carts are very deluxe with a GPS and speakers. The hills are no joke including the winding, steep cart paths. Hole 12 is crazy with 1200ft elevation. Very fun!

Great course for a “muni”. Fun layout with some challenging holes on the back 9. Elevated par 3 is a fun shot. Comfortable carts with Bluetooth speakers are always a plus! A bit overpriced compared to some much nicer courses in the area, but worth playing. Book early morning, gets very backed up as the day goes on. They say they enforce slow play, but they do not.

A must play golf course! Excellent greens, views and staff. I was told I was crazy for walking all 18 but we did it in 3 hours! Hidden gem!

Yes, this is the one! Golf here if you like a fun, challenging game with elevation changes and gorgeous scenery. Hole 12 is astounding with a 200 foot drop from the tee. Staff in the pro shop and cafe were all friendly and helpful. The starter enforced starting times and we had a pretty good pace of play, minimal waits. Fees, fairways and greens were all in good shape. Highly recommend Gatlinburg Golf Course.

It’s very close to the RV parks and easy to find! Disappointed with the experience. Unfortunately, the staff at the pro shop came off as unfriendly and unwelcoming, which put a damper on the visit. On top of that, the course was swarming with flies, making it difficult to enjoy the round.
