Indian Tree Golf Club

Arvada, Colorado, USADenver Metro Area

Indian Tree Golf Club in Arvada offers a traditional 18-hole layout with moderate elevation changes and challenging greens. Its forgiving fairways and natural terrain make it an approachable test for a broad range of golfers.

Course Overview

Indian Tree Golf Club in Arvada, Colorado, offers a compelling experience for golfers seeking a traditional layout in a setting defined by gentle elevation changes and mature landscapes. This 18-hole public golf course spans approximately 6,800 yards from the back tees and plays to a par of 72. While its roots trace back several decades, Indian Tree preserves an older, straightforward design that rewards thoughtful shot placement more than sheer length or power.

The course’s fairways, generally forgiving in width, invite players of varied skill levels to enjoy a round without constant penalization. Subtle undulations and moderate hills provide an added dimension to club selection and shot strategy, keeping players engaged through each hole. The greens, however, present a noted challenge, often running slower than one might expect and demanding careful reads to navigate their subtle breaks. Bunkers are strategically positioned around key landing areas and near the greens, shaping risk-reward opportunities without overwhelming the golfer.

Indian Tree’s landscape feels settled rather than manicured, with mature trees lining holes and framing several fairways, creating both aesthetic appeal and strategic obstacles. The relatively moderate elevation shifts work in concert with the natural terrain to influence wind patterns, encouraging golfers to pay attention to tempo and ball flight.

Though the course delivers solid playability, particularly for intermediate players aiming to sharpen their approach shots and putting, the practice facilities—especially the driving range—have attracted mixed feedback. The absence of well-kept grass tees and the sharp increase in range-ball pricing may deter frequent practice sessions for some visitors.

Situated conveniently at 7555 Wadsworth Blvd, Indian Tree Golf Club offers a clubhouse where players can unwind post-round. The grounds carry an authentic community golf atmosphere. Pricing and conditions align with its status as a popular municipal course serving Denver’s northwest suburbs. Players planning a visit should consider weekday tee times for a quieter pace and bring shoes suited for walking the subtle hills. With its straightforward layout and approachable challenges, Indian Tree remains a compelling choice for golfers wanting solid course management tests without undue complexity.

The golf course is usually in great shape and fun to play. The range is really embarassing. It is the most expensive in the area and probably the worst range i have ever paid to use. However, it would feel unfair to review based on the range. 4 stars. Had to post these photos so people know what to expect...

First and foremost the course seems fun and my friend and I suck at golf. The staff was accommodating, the only issue i had was we were paired up with some really good golfers and we could tell they were patient but bothered by how long we were taking. It became not fun so my buddy and I left before we played our 9. If you know this is standard that's okay but heads up to those that are below amateur casual golfers that you will be paired up with people. Again staff and course excellent.

The course is pretty good for the price and condition is above average for a muni course. What is atrocious is their range ball prices. They have doubled since last year and are double the price of like West Woods which is a nicer course. And this is for the privilege of hitting off their old sagging mats. Last year, they had a good chipping green with bunker. This year…a new cart barn. I guess we know who is paying for that.

The course added a really nice cart barn, only to remove half of the practice area. I was disappointed to find the range not only had no grass to hit off of, but instead of putting mats out, you’re left to hit off of sand. They should be charging $5 a bucket, not $16 in its current state. 2 stars because the course looks to be in solid shape, but for someone who used to frequent this place to practice, I’ll go other places for more affordable balls and either grass or mats to hit off of.

I like this course. It has elevated tee shots and it can be challenging. However the range is a 1-star review. It is by far the worst range in Denver area. It’s laughable how bad this range is. It’s 90% sand and it seems like they don’t care about keeping it up at all. Very embarrassing and frustrating.

Beautiful course with mostly forgiving fairways but with some more challenging shots. Moderate elevation change and an older feel. A little pricey, but it looks like they're trying to make some good repairs to the course. Greens were super slow and difficult to read.
