Community Golf Course

Dayton, Ohio, USADayton Metro Area

Community Golf Course in Dayton offers two contrasting 18-hole courses that blend rolling terrain with approachable playability. Its Hills and Valley layouts provide golfers a variety of challenges complemented by a friendly environment and practical amenities.

Course Overview

Community Golf Course in Dayton, Ohio presents a welcoming challenge across its two distinct 18-hole layouts, Hills and Valley, blending natural elevation changes with an accessible public setup. Positioned within a vibrant urban setting, this facility offers a refreshing green escape where rolling terrain and mature trees define the character of each round. The course’s varied topography injects subtle difficulty into shots while balancing playability for golfers of all skill levels. Hills course extends approximately 6,800 yards from the championship tees, demanding thoughtful club selection on its uphill and downhill holes, while the shorter Valley course provides a more forgiving alternative for novices and those seeking a brisker round.

The experience here is anchored by practical features that cater to both casual players and serious golfers. Cart rentals are readily available, yet the course’s layout encourages walking, letting players engage fully with the contours and occasional breezes shaping the play. The greens are mostly true, with some areas that have needed attention but remain fair and enjoyable. The fairways sweep through the landscape with generous width, accommodating steady drives and strategic approaches. A unique quirk on one hole offers an unconventional green marked by a painted circle, adding an element of surprise and lightheartedness to the outing.

Players will find a friendly atmosphere supported by attentive staff who contribute to smooth pace of play even during busy weekend afternoons. The setting includes basic clubhouse amenities, making it a practical choice for local golfers or visitors who want a solid, well-paced round without pretense. The course suits a range of game types—from those honing skills to those seeking an engaging, enjoyable day of golf amid Dayton’s community environment.

When planning a visit, it’s wise to schedule tee times in advance, especially on warmer weekends, and consider bringing weather-appropriate gear as summer heat can be intense. Wearing quality walking shoes enhances comfort given the course’s elevation shifts. Community Golf Course stands as a reliable, down-to-earth golf destination that combines modest challenges with a relaxed vibe conducive to both practice and play.

Love playing here, good course. Change the website back. Seriously it’s almost unusable now: doesn’t show price, filter criteria do not work at all (it simply shows every tee time). Don’t understand why the website was “updated” to look and function like it’s 20 years older than the previous one.You are going to lose business if it’s this difficult to find a tee time. License out to “GolfNow” if you don’t want to deal with online booking.

Played this course a few weeks ago and overall it’s a good course! A couple of the putting greens definitely need some work, but other than that it was pretty well maintained. A fun course with some good variety in shot lay out. One thing I’d appreciate is being able to have a cooler, I understand not wanting outside alcohol, but every other course has allowed me to bring a small cooler for days that it is 90+ degrees so I can have waters and lemonades

Very nice public course. We went Saturday with a 12:30 tee time. It was $38 with a cart and 18 holes. There’s two course to choose from, Hills being 1000 yards longer than the other. Some of the holes were just spectacularly beautiful and challenging. Others just mediocre. There was one hole that didn’t have a green, just had to hit into the center of a spray painted circle and then add two strokes lol. Other than that is was superb. Staff was friendly and helpful, other two golfers we paired up with were cool, just an overall great experience other than it was about 90 degrees… Being a Saturday afternoon it was pretty busy, but pace of play wasn’t too bad at all. I mostly play in the Columbus and Cleveland areas, so having a bit of elevation is pretty cool. Can’t wait to play again.

Played the Hills course a few days ago. Fun course. Tee boxes a bit rough, but it is March. Staff and workers are always very helpful and friendly.
