Course Overview

Coosaw Creek Country Club presents an 18-hole championship golf layout that challenges and rewards with equal measure. Located in North Charleston, South Carolina, this private club offers a blend of Southern charm and strategic golf that unfolds across gently rolling terrain accented by mature trees and subtle wetlands. The course invites players to navigate a diverse landscape where precision off the tee and thoughtful shot-making come to the forefront. With fairways that thread between tall pines and fairway bunkers that demand respect, golfers must balance power and accuracy to avoid trouble lurking near challenging greens. The greens themselves are known for their firmness and moderate speed, requiring careful reading and a steady putting stroke.

Designed for serious golfers who appreciate strategic variety without sacrificing playability, Coosaw Creek suits a range of skill levels but particularly tests mid to low handicap players. Every hole offers its own distinct personality, with elevation changes and natural water hazards influencing club selection and course management. The course’s design channels a classic feel, emphasizing intelligent play over brute force, making it a compelling destination for members seeking a competitive and thoughtful round.

Beyond the course, the clubhouse serves as a comfortable retreat where players can relax after their round. Amenities include a well-appointed pro shop, practice facilities for chipping and putting, and dining options that reflect the club’s commitment to member experience. Walking the course provides an immersive connection to the landscape, with well-maintained paths and service that supports a traditional round of golf in a serene environment.

Preparation-wise, golfers should bring a reliable rangefinder to navigate the nuanced terrain and expect shots influenced by occasional coastal breezes typical of the Lowcountry. Early morning tee times often reward players with calm winds and softer greens. Given the club’s private status, play is reserved for members and their guests, ensuring a pace of play and atmosphere tailored to golf enthusiasts seeking quality conditions and camaraderie.

Coosaw Creek Country Club’s golf course delivers a thoughtful challenge framed by South Carolina’s natural beauty, making each round a test of skill and focus amid an inviting setting.

Great golf course and country club. Played in a tournament two weeks ago and the course was set up nice. The food was amazing and so were the people that work there. Thank you for letting us play our tournament on your beautiful course. Bobby B

Played a round here on a warm but overcast February Friday afternoon. Got what turned out to be a good deal on the round. I did not think much about the friendliness of the staff here until after playing at a resort course in the area the next day. We were met with smiles and given all the info we needed. We had a 2pm tee time and no one in front of or behind us as we were cutting it close to get a round in because of time. We were told once done at the range we could tee off when ready. What a challenging course. You approach shots here need to be accurate or you pay for it. From the other reviews and the weather days before we played I have to agree the course seems to hold water a little. For the time of year the greens were in great shape. The fairways were nice, and the tee boxes were the only thing that needed a little attention. Overall my buddy and I enjoyed the course and look forward to revisiting the course as his parents are retiring to North Charleston. Thanks again!

The new female guard has a bad attitude, is extremely slow about getting passes written up (the line was all the way to the light) and is retaliatory. I drive a clearly recognized government delivery vehicle and have a federal ID and have permission to go thru the right side, without getting a pass. We are there daily. She refused to open the gate and stated the residents complain if they have to wait behind our delivery vehicles (how do they wait if you lift the gate for us to proceed). She then ushered ALL of the cars, behind me, to the left side, leaving me stuck at the unopened gate and opened the left gate for them, just to be petty. Our vehicles are granted access to federal properties all over this country. The other male guard is courteous and never gives issue to us going in on the right side.

A tough course with ridiculously fast and unforgiving greens. If you're putting downhill good luck with that one.
