Wachesaw Plantation Club

Murrells Inlet, South Carolina, USACoastal South Carolina

Wachesaw Plantation Club offers a challenging 18-hole private course where coastal waterways and towering oaks shape a course of strategic depth. Combining parkland precision with natural beauty, it invites golfers of varied skill levels to navigate its water hazards, rolling fairways, and receptive greens amid a tranquil seaside setting.

Course Overview

Wachesaw Plantation Club presents an 18-hole layout set against the serene waterways and wooded landscapes of Murrells Inlet, South Carolina. This private course combines the challenge of traditional parkland style golf with the distinct natural features of its coastal environment. Rolling fairways weave through mature hardwoods and live oaks, bordered by shimmering lakes and marshlands that come into play on several holes, offering both strategic variety and visual appeal.

The course demands precision and thoughtful shot-making. Golfers will find that each tee shot positions them to navigate water hazards and well-placed bunkers that protect greens shaped to reward accurate approaches. The routing encourages a measured pace, where the quiet rhythm of the landscape invites focus while the occasional breeze off the nearby Intracoastal Waterway tests tempo on the longer holes.

Designed to engage players across a broad spectrum of skill levels, Wachesaw Plantation Club appeals equally to those seeking a competitive round and those wanting to enjoy a meticulously maintained course with scenic views. The layout balances risk and reward, where layup options coexist with daring lines over water. Well-manicured greens provide true putting surfaces, making the short game a critical component.

The club’s clubhouse serves as a refined gathering point with spacious event spaces and a welcoming atmosphere. Interest in the property goes beyond golf, with onsite cottages that offer comfortable stays and additional amenities that enhance the overall experience.

Walking the course is encouraged here, allowing players to fully absorb the setting and maintain a smooth pace, although golf cart use is also accommodated. Players are advised to wear stable footwear suited for turf, as some stretches meander through softer ground near water edges.

Wachesaw Plantation Club stands out as a private gem within South Carolina’s coastal golfing region, bringing together natural beauty and demanding design into a seamless day on the course.

Fantastic setting for a wedding. Incredible place and beautiful scenery. We had such a great time and the photos were amazing! Would love to play golf here or even take a boat out on the lake for some fishing.

We chose Wachesaw Plantation Club as the venue for our wedding and we are so happy that we did. Brayer and the entire team made our wedding day better than we could have ever imagined. The venue is gorgeous in itself but the food and hospitality were impeccable. Our guests are still raving about their dinner. We had a few guests stay in the cottages on the grounds and they were so happy with their accommodations. Brayer captured our vision perfectly and we would not have changed a single thing about our day. Thank you again so much for the most amazing day of our lives. We could not have asked for better!
