At Crystal Coast Country Club, an 18-hole private course unfolds along North Carolina’s coast, blending coastal parkland terrain with brisk ocean breezes. Its firm, fast greens and thoughtfully designed fairways create a demanding yet approachable round for players seeking a strategic challenge within a serene natural setting.

Course Overview

Crystal Coast Country Club offers an 18-hole golf experience framed by the natural beauty of Pine Knoll Shores, North Carolina. This private facility presents a coastal parkland layout where gentle breezes from the Atlantic shape play, rewarding thoughtful shot-making and strategic course management. The course’s design integrates the surrounding marshes and maritime woodlands with tight fairways and challenging green complexes that test golfers across all skill levels.

Fairways demand precision, while the greens stand out for their firm and fast surfaces, providing an exacting target for approach shots. Golfers will find the course approachable but not without challenge; tighter landing zones and undulating surfaces invite patience and concentration rather than brute force. This balance makes the course engaging for players who appreciate a thoughtful round, blending both technical challenges and moments to enjoy the coastal landscape.

The setting near the Crystal Coast lends a unique character to the round, with shifting winds influencing club selection and shot shape. Views of native marsh grasses and distant waters add a quiet backdrop that shifts with the light as the day moves on. While the course is demanding, its compact scale and inviting layout create an environment suitable for members and their guests who enjoy a course that encourages strategic play over raw power.

Amenities at Crystal Coast complement the golf experience with a welcoming clubhouse that supports both competitive rounds and social gatherings. The pro shop provides attentive service, while the practice facilities, including a short driving range, help players tune their game before heading out. Dining options reflect a relaxed coastal charm, offering a fitting end to a round with friends or family.

Navigating the course on foot is welcomed, though footwear designed for uneven terrain is advisable due to natural elevation changes and coastal breezes that may affect footing. Member-exclusive access ensures a quieter pace of play, ideal for golfers seeking a measured, serene day on links influenced terrain.

Crystal Coast Country Club stands as a quietly formidable golf venue where terrain and wind engage players in an honest test of golf within a distinctive coastal environment.

Barb and her staff were amazing to work with for our rehearsal dinner and welcome party on August 25, 2023. The Crystal Coast Country Club is a beautiful event venue to host any sort of function. We loved how you could do so much with their space. CCCC closed off part of the ballroom making us have an intimate rehearsal dinner. Then we transitioned to the beautiful lawn for our welcome party where all 240 guests arrived after our rehearsal dinner. We had cocktails and live music on the beautiful lawn enjoying the beautiful sunset on the water. All of our groomsmen even got to enjoy a round of golf earlier in the day, which they all raved over the great course. Barb was very easy to work with, and we absolutely loved having our special event the night before our wedding here. It made our dream wedding weekend of events come true.

Great golf course. I played today, Nov 21 2022 for my first time and it was a bit windy and chilly. The course is very nice, fastest greens I’ve played in 2 years. Sort of tight fairways. The greens are sort of small and weren’t really receptive of the balls even on high angles approach shots. Part of the course are so close, players on other holes can blindly accidentally hit other players on other holes, I almost did and it almost happened to me. Had fun even though I played alone. Lost 9 balls and still shot a 104. I’ll play again…just when it’s less windy, if that’s possible being on the island.

Played this course for years and it’s been great. This year the price is way to high for the condition they let the course get to. Staff friendly as always. Just disappointed the condition doesn’t match the price right now

There’s no 6-star option so 5 will have to do. Greens were firm and fast. Fairways and tee boxes were pristine. A short driving range but the balls are included in the green fee. Restaurant is also great and the staff in the restaurant, pro shop, and outside were all polite and respectful. Like I said, there’s no 6-star option so 5 will have to do. It was pricey, but treat yourself this one time, it’ll be well worth it. Will definitely be back in the future.

Paid 150$ bucks for a 100 yard range, patchy greens and disorganized play. If money isn’t a factor it was a semi fun, average beach golf experience. But really REALLY not worth the price.

If I could give Crystal Coast Country Club and the staff 6 stars I would! My daughter’s wedding in April was nothing short of spectacular thanks to Barb and her staff! When we met with Barb the year prior I knew right away my daughter would have the wedding of her dreams! Barb has retired and Sam was one of our first weddings (Barb did see our wedding details to the end and it was such a wonderful surprise to have her by Sam’s side) The staff was incredible and so attentive to all guests! We had 115 guests and not one time was anyone waiting on a drink or appetizer. We chose a sit down meal given our guest 3 different options and I heard amazing reviews on all options The cocktail hour was absolutely perfect inside the clear tent. They had cocktails ready to go so nobody was waiting and the staff was passing around appetizers consistently. We did have some amazing wedding planners (Grow Social) so the evening schedule went on without any hiccups Thank you Crystal Coast Country Club for the perfect evening!
