Course Overview

Minnesott Golf & Country Club offers a distinctive experience for golfers seeking serene coastal charm combined with a thoughtfully designed, approachable layout. This 18-hole, public course sits along the Pamlico River in Arapahoe, North Carolina, where water features shape much of the playing experience and create an environment both scenic and compelling. The course blends aspects of classic parkland with coastal influences, presenting a layout that rewards strategic shot-making over sheer power.

Spanning just over 6,000 yards with a par of 72, Minnesott caters to a broad spectrum of golfers. Its fairways wind through gentle rolling terrain, bordered by stands of pines and the occasional salt marsh, while water hazards come into play on several holes to test accuracy and course management. The front nine eases players into the round with open spaces and forgiving lines, while the back nine introduces more water threats and subtle undulations, requiring precise approach shots.

The clubhouse, positioned prominently near the first tee, anchors the course and offers a welcoming atmosphere alongside essential amenities. Guests can rely on a well-stocked pro shop and dependable cart services, although walking the course remains a popular choice for those hoping to absorb the quiet natural surroundings and stretch their legs.

Greens at Minnesott are known for their smooth surfaces and moderate speed, encouraging confident putting without overwhelming even higher handicap players. Tee boxes are modestly sized, incentivizing thoughtful placement and respect for course conditions. The course’s layout is engaging yet accessible, making it a fitting stop for visiting golfers eager to enjoy the coastal North Carolina golf scene without the intensity of larger resort complexes.

Seasonal conditions vary, with spring and fall offering the most favorable weather and fewer bugs. Players are advised to bring insect repellent to fully enjoy the tranquil environment. Water views and gentle breezes add sensory depth to each hole, crafting a memorable round that balances challenge with natural beauty. Minnesott Golf & Country Club invites golfers of all levels to test their skills in a relaxed, picturesque setting off the beaten path.

Course Highlights

Minnesott Golf & Country Club is distinguished by its riverside setting with multiple holes guarded by water, blending coastal wetlands and parkland fairways. The course invites strategic play with narrow tee shots and carefully placed bunkers, especially where the Pamlico River borders holes on the back nine. The first tee presents an intriguing challenge with a narrow opening flanked by the clubhouse, setting the tone for a round where precision reigns. Well-maintained greens and natural surroundings offer a quieter alternative to busier resort courses nearby.

Played MGCC twice June 2025. This course is interesting and definitely a great value. Greens and fairways were in excellent condition. T boxes on the smaller side and could use some work. Bring bug spray and take the ferry from Cherry Branch.

Awesome course! It was a bit wet, the drainage system needs some work I would say but nonetheless it was a really fun course. Great staff. Carts were in great condition. I would go back even on a rainy day!

Pro shop staff were great and very welcoming to someone playing the course for the first time. The course itself is very nice. Greens were very good, lots of water hazards to challenge you. The first tee shot is nerve wracking though. It’s very intimidating with the narrow gap and the clubhouse right behind you. If you’re in the area, definitely look at this club.

This is a hidden secret. Not many people know about this golf course. Excellent layout with breathtaking water views. I paid $25 for 18 holes which included my own cart.
