Ocean County Golf Course at Atlantis

Little Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey, USACoastal New Jersey

Ocean County Golf Course at Atlantis is a public, 18-hole layout featuring a balanced blend of parkland and coastal elements. Its elevated greens and well-defined fairways provide strategic challenges while offering an approachable experience for players of all skill levels near the Jersey Shore.

Course Overview

Ocean County Golf Course at Atlantis offers an 18-hole public layout that challenges players of varying abilities within a serene coastal New Jersey setting. Located just a short drive from the Jersey Shore, the course blends classic parkland elements with touches of traditional design, framed by towering pines and pockets of natural wetlands that influence strategic shot-making throughout the round. The well-defined fairways demand accuracy, while the elevated greens focus attention on approach shots and putter control, giving this course a measured balance of playability and challenge.

Golfers will find the course approachable yet capable of testing tactical decisions. Fairways are generous enough to reward controlled tee shots, but thick rough and dense tree lines punish wayward drives, adding risk-reward elements that keep rounds engaging. The green complexes require careful reading, as subtle breaks and varying speeds make putting a key factor. This layout encourages thoughtful shot selection rather than brute distance, appealing to both newer players seeking an enjoyable golf experience and more advanced golfers hunting for a round of deliberate strategy.

Amenities enhance the visit with a pro shop staffed by friendly personnel and a modest clubhouse social spot known as Cuisine on the Green. This casual eatery provides a comfortable place to refresh after the round with straightforward, satisfying fare and a warm atmosphere. While the course emphasizes walking, golf carts are available to accommodate all preferences, though players should be prepared for sections where terrain and tree roots warrant supportive footwear.

Seasonal considerations include the presence of greenhead flies in summer months, which hikers on the fairways may want to time around. Weather interruptions occasionally affect play, so it’s advisable to monitor forecasts ahead of a tee time. Despite some mixed reviews regarding customer service, many locals and repeat players praise the course’s natural layout and solid conditioning for a public venue.

Ocean County Golf Course at Atlantis invites golfers seeking a well-rounded coastal New Jersey experience with enough variety and challenge to keep every hole interesting. Its blend of open stretches and tree-lined corridors, coupled with manageable pace and welcoming facilities, create an accessible destination for those looking to enjoy golf by the shore.

Course Highlights

The course features well-defined fairways lined with tall pines, elevated and often tricky greens, as well as pockets of natural wetlands that add strategic variety. The balance of open parkland and wooded stretches challenges precision from tee to green. Cuisine on the Green offers post-round dining in a welcoming setting.

A solid test of golf for all levels. Well defined fairways with thick rough to be avoided. The bones of the Fazio design remain, especially with the tricky elevated greens. Cuisine on the Green is a cozy spot for lunch or dinner.

Really nice course. Challenging with well maintained fairways but narrow roughs. Easy to bounce a shot on fairway into the trees. Heavily tree lined. Pines difficult to hit out of. Trees give u unplayable lies. Course is long. Ocean Cty course so nice golf carts. Small bar and restaurant that closes too early (5:00) on a Wednesday. Friends tell me the green head bugs are bad June thru early Sept. Will play again in the Fall.

****ALERT*****. If you start a round(example were on the 3rd hole) and a thunderstorm rolls through like today. The County closed the course and does not issue a refund or rain check. The staff are just that warm bodies. no where near as accommodating but prices are the same as private owned courses which we have plenty of locally. Dont take the chance if there is any weather coming because your not gonna be happy teeing off then being told sorry we cant issue a refund corse is closed. I play all year long in the cold, snow, rain sun and this is a first. Way to keep people happy.

For a public county course it is ok, tee boxes are beat up and right now there is underground construction going on throughout the course so some of the fairways are not in the best shape. I am used to playing Mercer County courses which are much better but with an Ocean County resident card you can’t beat $30 for 9 holes with cart at Atlantis.

I play this course 10 months a year. For a county course, it can't be beat. Hate that people can't fix their divots or rake the traps. The rough can be "rough" at times, greens in great shape. Staff is friendly on course and pro-shop. Don't forget to have a beverage or food afterwards at Cuisine on Green. Great staff and creative food.

Don’t waste time, money or energy attempting to play golf at this place. Experienced an over booked, rushed and rude staff. A day that was supposed to be enjoyable ruined by staff urging to move quicker. Now my girlfriend wants nothing to do with golf..THANKS. The worst part is..we would have paid for lessons or played weekly if we didn’t have a bad experience. All negative reviews that you read are 100% accurate. Foods also awful and priced fairly high for what they offer.
