Savannah, Georgia, USACoastal Georgia

Crosswinds Golf Club offers an inviting 18-hole public course near Savannah’s airport, blending open fairways with well-maintained greens. Its accessible layout suits all skill levels, supported by modern practice facilities and a welcoming clubhouse.

Course Overview

Crosswinds Golf Club in Savannah, Georgia offers an approachable 18-hole public layout designed for golfers who appreciate open fairways and a relaxed pace of play. Located mere minutes from the Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport, the course presents an intriguing blend of accessibility and challenge within a predominantly flat, parkland-style setting. The fairways are generous, encouraging golfers of all levels to unleash their drives without excessive fear of penalty, while the greens are consistently maintained, providing true rolls and subtle breaks that reward thoughtful putting.

The course’s environment features lightly wooded sections and wide, rolling plains, allowing refreshing morning breezes to sway throughout your round. This openness not only invites the sun but also the occasional overhead buzz of planes landing nearby, creating a distinctive rhythm unique to Savannah’s airspace. Beyond the primary 18-hole course, Crosswinds also offers a 9-hole par-3 course, perfect for those seeking a quick, skill-focused session or a warm-up before their main round.

Practice facilities are well-equipped, featuring a driving range with TrackMan shot tracer technology that helps players analyze their swing data and shot dispersion. Chipping and putting greens complement these resources, giving visitors ample opportunity to prepare before teeing off. The clubhouse provides a welcoming atmosphere with friendly staff who are attentive to first-time visitors and regulars alike.

Crosswinds appeals to a wide audience, particularly those looking for a well-kept course without the stiff price tag often found at regional alternatives. The layout is forgiving enough to accommodate beginners and mid-handicappers, yet it provides subtle challenges through strategic bunker placements and green contours that engage more seasoned players. The course encourages walking, though golf carts are available, enhancing the tactile connection to the terrain.

While hydration stations are limited on the course, the attentive cart staff ensure players remain refreshed throughout their round. The combination of open spaces, dependable conditions even in the offseason, and a friendly, inclusive atmosphere make Crosswinds Golf Club a noteworthy stop on any Savannah golf itinerary.

Not a golf snob but this was not a great course. Greens are worse than a muni. Driving range trackman technology was cool and the plains flying over was unique.

Played this course on November 25th, 2023. For it to be November this course is amazing. From the start I loved the golf cart. It was comfortable and clean. Practice facilities are good with a range, putting, and chipping green. The staff is warm welcoming and helped me after finding out it was my first time. They also offer military discounts. The course itself was amazing from the tee boxes to the greens. The course is pretty wide open and you can hit your driver pretty freely. The fairways are well kept and are in great condition for it to be winter season. The greens are consistent and roll true. The only recommendation I have for this course is to have drinking water for the players throughout the course. I was pretty thirsty the whole time. However, they do have a nice cart girl who I saw pretty frequently throughout my round. I highly recommend this place to everyone. It is well priced and could honestly charged more for the area they are in. Other courses around charge more and are no where near as nice.

This was our first stop for a weekend of golf in Savannah, and this was far and away the best course we played. The range is equipped with shot trackers at each bay which made for a great warmup to start the day. The course is exceptionally well kept, watered daily, with the white tees playing a bit long (a perfect challenge for high handicappers). The course is near the airport so planes are flying directly over head throughout the round, which is cool for newcomers like us. And above all, the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The 9-hole par 3 course was super fun - we played through three times after we finished our 18 on the championship course. We spent all day here and definitely plan on coming back. Highly recommend this spot to anyone looking to play in Savannah.

You might want to come up with a different way to pick up your food in the clubhouse. Being that you do not assign golf carts to anybody, we're not really taking note of what number we're on and then we're asked that number when we approach to pick up our food and I witness many people not knowing

This place is OK. There are only a couple Public courses in Savannah & unless you want to spend over $100/person, this place is on par with the rest. The range does have shot tracer which is cool. The greens on the back nine are very very rough/ The fairways & tee boxes are decent. It’s still fun to get out & play no matter the downsides of the course. At the end of the day, I play here a couple times a year & enjoy it regardless!

Not very good, they don't give you directions, the person who helped us wasn't friendly, we wanted to rent balls for the ranch and they told us they didn't have any, something unacceptable. Please, it's a golf club.
