Course Overview
Magnolia Greens Golf Course in Leland, North Carolina, offers an engaging golf experience tailored for players who appreciate a challenging layout balanced with Carolina’s distinctive coastal charm. This public 27-hole facility comprises three distinct nine-hole courses, each delivering a unique flavor while combining elements of traditional parkland and subtle links-style characteristics that reward strategic play. The course’s design incorporates gently rolling terrain, natural water elements, and sand bunkers that command respect, creating a varied landscape that tests every aspect of a golfer’s game.
Set against the backdrop of the coastal plains near Wilmington, Magnolia Greens presents an inviting blend of lush fairways and undulating greens. The routing includes doglegs and elevation changes that navigate through native vegetation, lending an authentic regional character without overwhelming the player. Water comes into play on several holes, often demanding careful club selection and controlled shot-making. While the three nine-hole loops encourage flexibility, golfers can experience a full 18-hole round combining two of these loops, ensuring plenty of diversity in strategy and scenery.
The course’s playability is notable for welcoming a broad spectrum of skill levels. While low handicappers will appreciate the tactical challenges and subtle nuances in greens and fairway placement, higher handicappers can find ample scoring opportunities thanks to generous fairways and clear sightlines. The three separate courses also allow players to tailor their round length and difficulty, making Magnolia Greens ideal for casual rounds, practice, or competitive play.
Magnolia Greens extends its hospitality beyond the course with a well-appointed clubhouse featuring a relaxed restaurant and golf shop staffed by helpful professionals. Rental clubs and carts are available, allowing visitors arriving without gear to enjoy a seamless round. The course’s staff has earned consistent praise for attentiveness, enhancing the overall guest experience.
Whether visiting for a quick nine or a full round, Magnolia Greens Golf Course crafts a satisfying and accessible journey through meticulously maintained fairways, where thoughtful design challenges and a welcoming atmosphere converge under the coastal Carolina sky.

Just don’t play the Adela 9. It’s a swamp and should be reverted back to its natural state. To many swamp holes on this nine and have tried to fix it but you can’t. It’s swamp!!!!!!

In from Boston visiting family in Leland/Wilmington and wanted to get 9 in on a beautiful, Carolina-feeling course - this was it. Beautiful premises, really nice staff, well tailored links and great views. There was a mix up where the starter lost my tee time, but he did make it right and I had a nice time. Very nice rental clubs as well for travelers.

Shot in the dark after a Google search. Absolutely consider ourselves lucky for finding this place. Service was incredible. Absolutely amazing. We were a large group and they asked if we could be split as it was a slow night and staff wanted to make sure that everyone got tables (love how kind and considerate that is!). Specials were explained and the menu had something for everyone. If you like wings then this is must. They were delicious. Everything was delicious. Food came out quickly. Staff was attentive and accommodating. I can not say enough good things about this place. We were about 35-40 minutes from our home base but would easily drive again to eat here. So glad we stumbled onto this gem!

Called to check on tee times…. None available which was fine . Then I asked for advice on local courses or steer me in right direction. Pro shop reply was “get on google!!” ………. When I told him thanks for ALL his help he hung up on me. Get on google ……. How does he think I found his ill mannered attitude ?????

GOLF STAFF IS INCOMPETENT ! Very nice challenging course. We played two of the three nine-hole courses. The greens were great, the fairways were good on one of them courses, the other one was a wet mess with tire treads. Pretty good value. However I cannot justify more then 3 stars for a few reasons. With the amount of sand, water, dog legs and blind shots you cannot possibly play this course for the first time without some kind of reference. There are no pictures of the holes on the tee signs, there are no yardage books and there is no GPS. Also, all flags are yellow. There is no way to determine if the hole is front middle or back of the green. So without GPS or range finder, put a blindfold on and have a good time.
