Course Overview
Desert Falls Country Club offers a distinctive desert golf experience that combines a meticulously maintained 18-hole layout with striking Southwestern scenery. Located in Palm Desert, California, this resort-style public course stretches over 7,035 yards from the championship tees, featuring a par 72 configuration that provides a rewarding challenge for players across skill levels. The terrain unfurls with classic desert landscaping marked by strategically placed palms, native cacti, and natural rock formations that frame each hole without overwhelming playability.
The course’s design encourages a thoughtful approach from tee to green. Wide fairways grant ample room off the tee, yet numerous bunkers and undulating greens demand precision and strategic shot-making. The desert wind often enters the equation, adding a subtle complexity that tests tempo and decision-making through several key holes. One standout hole plays along a natural wash, where the changing elevation and desert vegetation introduce an engaging blend of visual contrasts and playing challenges.
Visitors and members alike benefit from modern amenities including a well-appointed clubhouse with dining facilities that overlook the course, providing a relaxed setting to unwind after rounds or as part of a golf outing. The practice range and short game areas invite players to sharpen skills before setting off, making Desert Falls a practical choice for those seeking both enjoyment and improvement.
Playability is balanced to accommodate beginners looking for a fair test and low handicappers eager to exploit the course’s nuances. The openness of the layout supports walking, with a terrain that is mostly flat but punctuated by subtle rises that keep each hole distinctive. Golfers planning a visit will find well-maintained cart paths, courteous course staff, and a pace of play that respects both beginners and seasoned competitors.
Desert Falls Country Club stands as a premier golfing destination in Palm Desert where arid beauty meets thoughtful course architecture. Its combination of desert character, challenging elements, and welcoming atmosphere creates an experience that both invigorates and satisfies.

Great sports bar and lounge. Beautiful view of the golf course. Good food. Reasonable prices. Generous portions. Nice country club ambiance and open to the public. They occasionally have live entertainment as well.

A friend lives there. He thought it was nice, but they still don't take care of it. Dead grass super slow greens, fairways. Not manicured, very slow greens. It's like they just keep all the money they make, and don't put anything back into the course. Don't recommend this course at all

I played this course two days before Christmas '24. The fairways were in good shape and the bunkers were fair to play (lots of sand in the ones I found). My tee time was 8:14 so the greens were slower on the front than the back, after it warmed up and were overall true in the reads. The member I played with thought the course needed a trim after early winter preparations. I had a good round and will be back. The price was fair for what I experienced. Now ... if I could just make my short irons behave a bit better, I'll quit my day job. :)

Great track . Greens a little slow but rolled true

Tough greens. But course in good shape. Played with regulars...otherwise it would require a round or two to know where to hit your shots
