Course Overview

Desert Falls Country Club offers an 18-hole championship experience set against the dramatic backdrop of Palm Desert’s arid foothills. This semi-private layout combines classic desert golf characteristics with lush, well-maintained fairways and a variety of challenging yet inviting holes. The course stretches just over 7,000 yards from the championship tees, demanding thoughtful shot-making with strategically placed bunkers and water hazards that punctuate the landscape. Elevation changes and desert flora frame each hole, creating a visual contrast between the sculpted greens and the rugged surroundings.

Players encounter a balanced mix of long, open fairways and tighter, more technical approaches. The desert environment influences play; subtle winds often sway the flight of the ball, requiring steady control and patience. Golfers of all skill levels will find the course approachable, with multiple tees allowing for a fair test without overwhelming newer players. The greens present a moderate pace, encouraging precise putting and rewarding thoughtful course management.

The clubhouse embodies a lively social hub with a sports bar and lounge that overlooks the course, offering refreshing views and hearty fare with generous portions. The facility also hosts occasional live entertainment, enhancing the sense of community and relaxation after a round. Desert Falls maintains an inviting atmosphere, open to residents and public play, blending a club-like ambiance with accessibility.

Walking is an option for those wishing to enjoy the natural terrain, but the dry desert climate and course length suggest wearing supportive footwear, sun protection, and carrying ample water. Carts are available, ensuring a comfortable pace throughout the round.

For golfers seeking a desert course with dependable conditioning and a friendly setting, Desert Falls Country Club strikes a solid balance. While some reviews note that early winter maintenance can leave certain areas in transition, the general consensus emphasizes playable fairways, fair bunkers, and a vibrant clubhouse environment. Whether arriving for competitive golf or casual enjoyment, Desert Falls quietly delivers a distinctive Southern California desert golf outing.

Course Highlights

The course features classic desert-style holes framed by indigenous vegetation, well-placed bunkers with generous sand, and water hazards that add strategic depth without overwhelming playability. Tough greens. But course in good shape. Played with regulars...otherwise it would require a round or two to know where to hit your shots

A friend lives there. He thought it was nice, but they still don't take care of it. Dead grass super slow greens, fairways. Not manicured, very slow greens. It's like they just keep all the money they make, and don't put anything back into the course. Don't recommend this course at all

I played this course two days before Christmas '24. The fairways were in good shape and the bunkers were fair to play (lots of sand in the ones I found). My tee time was 8:14 so the greens were slower on the front than the back, after it warmed up and were overall true in the reads. The member I played with thought the course needed a trim after early winter preparations. I had a good round and will be back. The price was fair for what I experienced. Now ... if I could just make my short irons behave a bit better, I'll quit my day job. :)
