Rocky Ridge Golf Club

St George, Vermont, USAChittenden County

Rocky Ridge Golf Club offers an inviting 18-hole public course distinguished by rolling fairways and undulating greens set within Vermont’s pastoral scenery. It delivers a mix of strategic challenge and approachable playability, making it a favorite among local and visiting golfers alike.

Course Overview

Rocky Ridge Golf Club presents a well-crafted 18-hole layout that balances accessible playability with rewarding challenges, set against the quietly striking backdrop of northern Vermont’s rural landscape. This public course invites golfers of varying skill levels to navigate a course that thoughtfully integrates natural pastures and forest edges. Rolling fairways wind through open stretches and wood-lined corridors, creating a sense of seclusion from nearby roads and neighborhoods. The course tests your shot-making with strategic bunkering and undulating greens that respond true to the putter, rewarding careful approach shots while encouraging creativity off the tee.

Greens here move at a pace that challenges your putting touch without becoming forbidding. The layout offers a mix of open holes where wind subtly impacts shot selection, and tighter, tree-guarded fairways demanding precision. This dynamic keeps players attentive throughout, from the opening tee to the finishing green. Rocky Ridge strikes a careful balance between challenge and enjoyment, making it a strong option for both weekend players seeking a relaxing round and more competitive golfers searching for a spirited test.

The club’s friendly and attentive staff reinforce the welcoming atmosphere, ensuring a smooth experience from check-in to the final putt. The clubhouse serves as a relaxed gathering spot where you can enjoy refreshments and soak in views of the course’s pastoral setting. Walking is encouraged, with gently rolling terrain that feels approachable yet engaging, and golfers are advised to wear sturdy shoes to handle occasional patches of natural Vermont turf.

Rocky Ridge thins out distractions and brings golf back to its essential elements: turf, touch, and terrain. Its location away from urban clamor means you often find yourself in an environment where focus is effortless and the day’s rhythm dictated by the game itself. Great course, great staff and good price! Was able to complete a round in under 3 hours. Greens were well kept along with great views throughout the course. Will definitely play again when in VT.

One of, if not my favorite course in the Burlington area. Friendly staff, fun and challenging course, amazing views and great people. The vast majority of the course is secluded and tucked between pastures and forests; away from any noisy neighborhoods and highways. Someone once told me Rocky Ridge "is the only bar with a golf course" but that doesn't do the place justice.

Ed and Vicki always make you feel like a member on and off the course. The course is never easy, but always a good time. Al and the grounds crew work their tails off. It’s a must play in the Chittenden county area…

Very nice course, would be a 5 star but the greens were just aerated which led to some issues putting, no fault of the course as it needs to be done, but have been warned prior at other course when calling for a tee time, always appreciated to know that. Staff was friendly for the limited interactions. Was a bit crowded, but has to be expected on a decent day this late in the season. The course is a beautiful location with a challenging layout. Had a couple of errant shots and loud groups on the course that were a bit irritating, lots of reminders to be respectful of the course (though many players obviously were not due to many ballmarks on greens and divots on tees), but no notices to be respectful of fellow golfers. Would still recommend it as a course to try out as it was all around a decent round of golf.

Had a par 3 shut down on the back nine for renovation. Had a temp par 3 set up on the eighteenth. Confusing. Had to call the pro shop. Should have been explained at the pro shop when checking in.
