Meadowcreek Golf Course
Meadowcreek Golf Course offers a thoughtful 18-hole layout with hilly terrain and mature trees setting natural challenges throughout. This public course balances approachability with strategic demands, making it an appealing choice for golfers across all levels seeking value in Charlottesville.
Course Overview
Meadowcreek Golf Course in Charlottesville, Virginia, delivers an engaging golfing experience that balances challenge with accessibility across its 18 holes. This public facility stretches over a moderately hilly landscape, inviting players to navigate elevation changes that test both stamina and shot-making precision. Mature trees line the fairways, while creeks weave through the property, adding natural obstacles that demand thoughtful play. Despite its shorter overall yardage, the course’s undulating terrain and strategic greens provide a layout that rewards accuracy and course management.
The conditioning of Meadowcreek holds up well with well-maintained greens that respond consistently to putts and chips. The fairways are kept in good shape, encouraging confident swings from the tee through approach shots. While the sand bunkers occasionally challenge golfers, their tendency to hold water after rain means players should approach them with caution or plan to avoid them altogether. The driving range, though limited in size and somewhat hilly, offers a convenient spot for warming up before round and refining certain shots.
This course is well suited for players who appreciate a traditional parkland style layout and are prepared for a physical journey. Walkers should be ready for a workout due to the hills and distances between some tees and greens. Golf carts are available, providing an alternative for those who prefer to conserve energy without sacrificing pace of play. The relaxed public access makes Meadowcreek approachable for all skill levels, from novices eager to advance their game to seasoned players seeking a solid outing without premium fees.
Beyond the course, friendly staff contribute to a welcoming atmosphere, ensuring visitors feel at ease whether it’s their first round or a return trip. While the practice facilities could benefit from upgrades, the overall value and presence of this course fill an important niche in Charlottesville’s golfing scene. Players looking to enjoy a solid round amid natural Virginia scenery will find Meadowcreek Golf Course consistently delivers practical challenges and rewarding play in equal measure.
Course Highlights
Meadowcreek’s 18-hole parkland design features rolling hills framed by mature hardwoods and winding creeks that influence shot selection. Players will appreciate the course’s blend of scenic variety and accessible challenge, especially given its favorable value in the Charlottesville area.

The course is amazing!! Very beautiful. They keep the greens very well kept. However, the clubhouse was a tad disappointing. The staff was also very helpful.

Played Meadowcreek today. Prior to playing this course I looked at the reviews, and they left me wondering what I would experience today, because they are all over the place. Well, I was pleasantly, surprised. The course is short, but was well kept. The greens were in good shape. The course has character, with mature trees and a little water / creeks. Again this is not an expensive course, so temper your expectations. Warning if you like to walk beware this is a hilly course, your stamina will be tested 😆

I play Meadowcreek regularly and, for the price, it’s a great value. Charlottesville doesn’t have a ton of options when it comes to public golf, so supply and demand are definitely in the course’s favor. The layout is fun and offers enough of a challenge to keep things interesting. It’s generally well kept (for the most part), and if you like to walk, be prepared for a serious workout — it’s very hilly, and there’s a good bit of distance between some greens and the next tee. That said, a couple areas need attention: • Driving range: It’s really lacking. The range balls are in poor condition — I’d say 75% are junk. The range itself is short, hilly, and not very wide, so it’s limited in what it offers and unlikely to see any improvements soon. • Sand traps: Avoid them if you can. They often play more like mud traps, and after heavy rain, you might actually need a fishing rod — the water pools pretty deep. Despite the flaws, Meadowcreek remains the best value course in Charlottesville. I just wish we had more options in the area.

Really. I’m booking my tee time with an India call center? Please do something about that practice area. I want to hit driver. You can’t put a tee in those mats. Why can’t you use that grass area in front. Crazy
