Course Overview

Percy Warner Golf Course offers an inviting and approachable golfing experience within Nashville’s serene natural surroundings. This public 9-hole course is designed with golfers seeking to sharpen their short game and enjoy an easygoing round. Stretching just under 2,300 yards with a par of 33, the layout consists of a blend of par 3s and short par 4s that encourage precision over power. Its compact design makes it an ideal spot for practice or a quick round without sacrificing the nuances of shot-making.

Set amid rolling parkland with mature trees and subtle elevation changes, Percy Warner’s terrain provides a gentle challenge. While water hazards are absent from the course, sand bunkers appear sparingly, thoughtfully placed to test approach shots and strategic positioning. The greens demand some attention with moderate undulations, offering a platform for honing putting skills. Seasonal conditions generally support comfortable walking, making it suitable for players who prefer a more traditional, foot-powered experience.

The course’s layout encourages players of all skill levels to engage confidently. Beginners appreciate its manageable yardage and clear sightlines, while more experienced golfers can fine-tune their short game and course management under relaxed conditions. As a municipal facility, Percy Warner fosters accessible golf within a natural setting, supported by cart rentals and club availability for those seeking convenience.

Maintained as a straightforward yet refreshing venue, the course reflects a solid balance of playability and character. Bug spray is suggested during warmer months due to occasional insect activity, and while the greens could receive more consistent grooming, the overall condition remains inviting. Tee times are typically not required, encouraging spontaneous rounds for locals and visitors.

Located at 1221 Forrest Park Drive, Percy Warner Golf Course presents a practical option for golfers looking to combine practice and leisure. Its proximity to downtown Nashville connects players to city life while offering a brief retreat into a quiet golfing environment. Whether fitting in a quick nine or working on specific aspects of their game, golfers find Percy Warner a reliable and pleasant destination.

Course Highlights

The course emphasizes short game play with a layout composed of three par 3s and six short par 4s, framed by mature trees and mild elevation changes. This is by far my favorite public course in Nashville. Ever since they renovated it couple years back it’s great. They do a fairly good job of spacing you out when they have starters. Relaxing 9-hole course to walk. Geared more toward short game (par 3s and short par 4s).

Spray arms and legs with bug spray before teeing off. Biting flies swarm you if you stand still for more than a few seconds. No complaints about the track. In great shape. Greens could be given more attention. Fix the bugs and it’s 4.5 stars.

Beautiful and simple, 9-hole course. Great course to walk but carts are available to rent as well as clubs. No tee time needed. Note: the nashville.gov site lists 18-hour pricing for Percy Warner but again, this is a 9-hole course. No water hazards. Only a couple of holes have sand traps. The tees and greens are a bit shabby but playable. All-in-all, a great value for money and lovely scenery.

This place was closed when I moved to Nashville and was so pumped to play it once it opened and this place DID NOT disappoint! It is awesome, clean and the course is in great shape! Catch me here nearly every Saturday cause I can’t get enough!

Great place for practice, but practice putting green really needs to be punched and rolled or it won’t be healthy for long. Getting bumpy and inconsistent. Worked hard on bringing this course back, hopefully it’s well taken care of. Also, the online scorecard is wrong and so is GHIN. It’s a par 33 with three par 3s and six par 4s, unless hole nine is considered a long par 3.

I have called 6 times now and no one has picked up the phone. How does one make a tee time when you can’t do it online and no one is answering the phone?
