Gaylord Springs Golf Links
Gaylord Springs Golf Links combines Scottish-style links architecture with Tennessee’s rolling hills to deliver an 18-hole course defined by strategic bunkering, firm greens, and challenging wind conditions. Its public layout offers players a playable yet demanding test in a striking natural setting.
Course Overview
Gaylord Springs Golf Links offers an 18-hole experience that challenges players while showcasing the rugged charm of Tennessee’s landscape. This public course, located along the Cumberland River in Nashville, blends Scottish links-style elements with local topography to create a layout that demands thoughtful strategy without overwhelming the mid-handicap golfer. With rolling hills, deep sand bunkers, and natural water features integrated into fairways and greens, the course invites players to engage both mentally and physically from the first tee to the last putt.
The course stretches close to 7,000 yards and plays to a par that rewards accuracy and well-placed shots over brute force. Its greens are known for a subtle, almost imperceptible break that encourages players to read putts carefully, enhancing the challenge without drifting into frustration. While conditions are generally well maintained—even after rainy spells that test drainage—the firm but fair bunkers keep golfers mindful of course management on every approach shot.
Set against a backdrop of native grasses and open vistas, the layout’s routing allows the ever-present Tennessee breeze to play a part in shot selection. The consistent wind here tends to test tempo and trajectory, making each round a dynamic puzzle. For golfers seeking a true links-style experience away from the coasts, Gaylord Springs delivers with its blend of strategic demands and approachable design.
Amenities include a driving range with mats, a pro shop staffed by knowledgeable professionals, and cart service that navigates the course’s varying terrain efficiently. While walking is allowed, the course’s hills make cart use practical for most players. The clubhouse provides a comfortable place for post-round reflection or to plan a return visit.
Visitors will find Gaylord Springs well suited for intermediate to advanced golfers who appreciate a course that rewards smart play and adaptability. While some amenities might not reflect the price point fully, the quality of the course and its distinctive character provide a rewarding day of golf in Nashville’s outdoor setting.
Course Highlights

The layout rewards strategic shot placement and adaptability, making it a worthy test for players looking to experience links-style golf inland.

Beautiful course, absolutely great conditions and tough greens. My mid range rating is over the range balls. At the price to play ($150), charging $20 for a large bucket seems asinine. Likely won't return based on that alone. Would play again otherwise, but have played at nicer and more affordable courses that provided warm up balls for free. That felt like a rip off.

Very Nice Course and friendly staff. It’s very Beautiful. Just wish my game was on par with the course. Scottish style link course with hills, bunch of deep sand traps, water features, and next to the Cumberland River. Greens played really fast on this day. Paid about $100 (Military Discount) and played after 3 days of rain. Cart path only so it was a lot of back and forth.

Beautiful course and worth every penny. Great pro staff, Micah was particularly good to work with. Would go their again next time I am in Nashville, and may make a trip just to golf some day.

A fun afternoon of golf in a beautiful setting. The course is fair but demanding, and errors are punished. Greens run true and have a slight bend in them that makes putting an enjoyable challenge. Certainly a place you want to play more than one round because you learn so much about the course your first time through. My only complaint is the pace of play really slowed on the back nine, and we almost didn't finish.

This course is one of the premier courses in Eastern Tennessee. Now with that being said, I felt some of the amenities were lacking for a course of this high of caliber. The range balls were just the typical yellow balls, we were hitting off mats, the carts were something similar to what you see at a local public course, which I know this is a public course but for almost $100 per round I just expected the golf amenities to be a little better. The course itself was in great condition, it had rained the night before but the water drained really well. The bunkers were definitely an adjustment for me because I am used to soft soft here in the Carolinas and this sand was more packed but I just need to avoid them next time. The greens were a little slower than I am used to but still in great shape. The rough wasn't to penalizing at all. Great course and would probably play again when I come back to the area.

Incredible value for this quality of a course. Clean. Friendly. Beautiful club house. Course was in immaculate condition. Can't believe something this high quality is available to the public at this price point.
