Course Overview

Auburn Golf Course, located just off Green River Road in Auburn, Washington, offers an 18-hole public layout that balances playability with subtle strategic challenges. This parkland-style course unfolds across gently rolling terrain, featuring well-maintained fairways framed by mature trees and a series of thoughtfully placed bunkers that demand precision without overwhelming less-experienced golfers. The elevation changes unfold gradually, allowing the course to feel natural beneath a broad Pacific Northwest sky while providing a varied test of shot-making.

The front nine presents a collection of straightforward holes that encourage rhythm and confidence building, making the opening stretch approachable for newcomers and mid-handicappers. As the round progresses, the back nine introduces a mix of longer par 4s and intricate greens complexes where accuracy and course management come to the fore. These holes reward players who can navigate challenging pin positions and adjust to subtle slopes on the putting surfaces, while still offering room to score for those who play smart.

Course conditions are generally consistent, with soft, receptive greens and bunkers that are regularly maintained to retain both challenge and fairness. Players often comment on the friendliness of the pro shop staff and the value offered by both play and equipment rentals. The layout’s natural beauty is punctuated by scenic views of surrounding evergreen forests and occasional glimpses of nearby hills, giving a refreshing sense of place without distraction.

Facilities include a clubhouse with dining options that provide a relaxing spot to regroup after your round, along with amenities suited to families and casual golfers. Walking the course is feasible, though some elevation shifts and length may encourage use of a cart, especially during warmer months.

Auburn Golf Course fits well within the Central Puget Sound golf scene as an accessible, well-kept option for players seeking a solid 18-hole experience that balances enjoyment and challenge. It welcomes beginners looking to develop their game and more seasoned players searching for a satisfying round without the trappings of exclusivity.

Felt like a steal riding this course for $70 bucks on Labor Day weekend. Conditions were great, particularly the greens. Front nine layout was fairly standard, but the back is loaded with unique challenges. We rented clubs, and they were solid for only $30. Big time hot dog at the turn and solid food at the restaurant after. Staff was exceptional.

IMO Auburn is overpriced for the course. A couple of nice holes, but nothing just grabs you. My wife and I paid $143 for two rounds of golf, one riding in a cart on a Monday (Memorial Day so maybe weekend rates?). It was a 5 1/2-hour plus round. The pace of play was extremely slow and uneven, and we never saw a Marshall. Greens were peppered with ball marks, I repaired probably 5 per hole. There are more scenic courses that are better maintained (or at least golfers have more course etiquette) and with better pace management for less money. Don't get me wrong the course can be fun, and the pro shop is extremely friendly, but a little overpriced for what you get.

Played all 18 on this course and thoroughly enjoyed it. The entire course is in fantastic shape and condition. Soft playable greens, very well kept bunkers. Lots of straight fairways with room on both sides for those of us who play Army golf.... you know....left, right, left, right. Great scenic views and some good elevation changes. I will absolutely be playing this course many more times in th future.
