Course Overview

Carved into the rugged landscape just outside Terrebonne, Oregon, Crooked River Ranch Golf Course offers an 18-hole challenge defined by its dramatic canyon terrain and striking natural features. This public course extends over approximately 6,700 yards from the back tees, playing to a par of 72. The elevation changes and occasional breezes add subtle demands on club selection and shot control without overwhelming players.

Designed for broad appeal, Crooked River Ranch caters to all levels of golfers. Its layout rewards strategic thinking over sheer power, encouraging precision rather than forcing punishing misses. For beginners and mid-handicappers, the course’s forgiving fairways and approachable greens provide an enjoyable round, while low handicappers will appreciate the nuanced challenges of the canyon-edged holes and the slightly undulating putting surfaces. The front nine plays slightly shorter and more open, easing players into the round, while the back nine ramps up with tighter approach shots and canyon views that test nerves.

Maintenance at Crooked River Ranch is consistently praised, with well-manicured fairways and healthy greens year-round. The surrounding high desert vegetation and rock formations give the course a distinctive Western character that feels authentic and uncontrived. After the round, the Sandbagger Saloon serves as a local gathering spot where golfers can unwind with food and drinks, completing the experience with a relaxed atmosphere.

Those planning a visit should consider walking to fully absorb the course’s varied elevations and vistas, with sturdy shoes recommended due to uneven terrain. Cart rentals are available but limited, enhancing the walking-friendly nature of the layout. The course’s welcoming environment and scenic backdrop make it a standout in Central Oregon, offering a memorable day on the links that combines approachable playability with a strong sense of place.

Best course in Central Oregon. Very affordable, wonderful staff (especially with the kiddos), cheap range balls, cheap cart drinks, challenging course and always well maintained. Golfed here for years and I'll always come back

Beautiful course -the shot across the canyon is amazing. Worth it to stop in to the Sandbagger Saloon after your round to top off your day with a cold drink!

Such a great course. Weather was perfect for a round of 18 today. A bit crowded, play seemed to speed up after the 4th or 5th hole. Grounds were in great condition, only thing missing was a beer cart.

Great course outside Terrebonne. Sits down in a canyon, with Canyons all over. Well maintained & reasonably priced. Fairways were nice, greens were in great shape. Front 9 seemed to play a little short, but it was a great course. Fairly open, not overly challenging. Definetly worth a play, I'll be back sometime.

Perhaps the most fun golf course I’ve ever had the pleasure of playing. Nicest starter in the world. Fairways are wide open and forgiving, unless your ball goes over the canyon on the holes that run parallel to it. #5 with the option to drive over the canyon is one of the coolest holes I’ve ever played. We will be back!
