Caldera Links Golf Course

Sunriver, Oregon, USACentral Oregon

Caldera Links Golf Course offers a unique par-3 challenge in the scenic high desert surroundings of Sunriver, Oregon. This compact nine-hole layout is ideal for sharpening short game skills, welcoming both beginners and seasoned players with its inviting yet thoughtfully demanding design.

Course Overview

Caldera Links Golf Course presents a focused and stimulating golf experience with its compact all-par-3 layout at Sunriver, Oregon. This public nine-hole course measures just over 1,000 yards, inviting players to concentrate on precision and short game finesse rather than power. Set against a striking backdrop of high desert terrain, the course integrates natural lava rock formations, gentle fairway undulations, and carefully placed water hazards to test accuracy and course management skills.

Designed to be accessible to golfers of all skill levels, Caldera Links provides a welcoming environment for beginners and families seeking to sharpen their irons, while still offering engaging challenges to more experienced players looking to polish their scoring touch. The elevated tee boxes, particularly on the ninth hole, command visual drama and strategic decision-making as shots carry over a sweeping water hazard that frames the hole with quiet intensity.

The landscape’s blend of sagebrush and ponderosa pines adds character without overwhelming playability, maintaining a balance between natural beauty and practical navigation. This well-maintained course emphasizes short game development with its closely guarded greens and carefully positioned bunkers, making it a practical destination for practice rounds or casual play.

Amenities at Caldera Links are straightforward - a charming clubhouse provides comfortable gathering space, though it lacks a traditional pro shop and features basic club rental options. Visitors are encouraged to bring their own equipment for a seamless experience. The course’s layout encourages walking, making it easy to stay connected to the surrounding environment and rhythm of play.

For those planning a visit, early mornings or late afternoons offer the most pleasant playing conditions, avoiding midday heat and occasional seasonal smoke. Though compact, Caldera Links delivers a refreshing focus on short game strategy in a setting that complements Sunriver’s variety of upscale resort options and outdoor recreation.

In all, Caldera Links Golf Course offers a distinctive, approachable short course experience that sharpens precision while honoring the high desert’s quiet, rugged charm.

This is an awesome par 3 course! It is great fun, challenging and beautifully manicured given it’s a par 3. Although tailored more toward families and beginners, it was still a joy to play for the 12 handicap player that I am. We stayed at the Sun River resort to play this. They are a bit unorganized with the check in process for the coarse and although there is signage all over the resort, it tends to be confusing and lacking where it’s needed at this local for 1st timers. I definitely recommend anyone to play this short coarse to get a lot of short game practice in. I wish we had something similar in our hometown.

This is such a fun little par 3 nine hole course. Great for beginners or anyone trying to dial in their short irons.

Used to be “complimentary”, now it’s $45, last two mornings not even a soul in sight at 10am. Caldera Springs has seen my last dollars. This place is turning into a lame copy of a Palm Springs resort that has to make all its profits in the 75 days of summer, and be prepared for smoke for half of those 75 days

Great course, beautiful setting, all par 3s and all pretty fair with just some hazards but all good if you hit straight. Ninth hole tees, especially white will take you over a large water hazard and it’s a beautiful course being. Great casual course especially for beginners.

Fun par 3 course. Challenging. Beautiful views and pleasant surrounding. Well kept. Club house is gorgeous. FYI, there is no pro shop and club rentals are basic so I recommend bringing your own gear if you can.
