Eaglesticks Golf Club

Zanesville, Ohio, USACentral Ohio

Eaglesticks Golf Club offers a challenging 18-hole public layout defined by rolling hills and elevation changes. Its signature par-3 over water and well-placed bunkers demand precision, while the welcoming clubhouse and seasonal playability make it a standout destination in Zanesville, Ohio.

Course Overview

Located in Zanesville, Ohio, Eaglesticks Golf Club offers an engaging blend of natural elevation changes and strategic design that challenges golfers beyond the typical public course experience. This 18-hole layout winds through a landscape marked by rolling hills and mature trees, creating a varied topography that compels players to think carefully about club selection and shot shape. Played from multiple tees, the course accommodates different skill levels while rewarding precision and course management.

Eaglesticks demands attention from the outset, with several holes featuring elevation shifts that influence both drive distance and approach shots. The fairways are often generous but punish errant tee shots with thick, unforgiving rough that tests a golfer's recovery skills. Bunkers are strategically placed to influence decision-making and guard many of the greens with well-raked sand that contrasts vividly against the natural terrain.

Among the course’s standout features is its signature par-3 10th hole, which challenges players to carry over water to a well-protected green. This hole commands respect, calling for accuracy under pressure amid scenic surroundings. While the course’s condition can fluctuate seasonally, its putting surfaces frequently earn praise for responsiveness, making birdie opportunities possible when approach shots are well executed.

Eaglesticks extends an inviting atmosphere for public players seeking a test that balances demanding holes with a layout that remains accessible. The course encourages walking, rewarding those willing to explore its terrain on foot with panoramic views and a deeper connection to the fluctuations of elevation that shape every round.

Off the course, the clubhouse provides a welcoming space for post-round relaxation, complete with a full-service restaurant and bar. The attentive staff enhances the overall experience, offering guidance and hospitality that reflects the club’s commitment to creating a memorable visit. For those planning their trip, early summer or fall tends to present the course in its best light, with cooler temperatures and firmer playing conditions.

Eaglesticks Golf Club stands as a distinguished public course in the Ohio region, blending challenge, natural beauty, and community spirit into every round. Players seeking varied shots, thoughtful design, and authentic golf terrain will find a rewarding destination here.

I've been coming here for over 20 yrs. Kelly Morrow (GM) continues to run a great golf course and an awesome restaurant/bar for after the round. The course is consistently in great shape and the staff is always pleasant and helpful. The course isnt overly long, but if u miss the fairway or green the rough is brutal to get out of. If you can consistently drive the ball 270+ I'd use the back tees, 250+270 I'd use blue.

The course is just okay. Fairways were decent but the tee boxes really need fixed. Most were in poor condition and not level. Greens are really fast and demanding even for a good golfer. Carts are a nice touch. Overall for the greens fees and what this course used to be, it really needs help. Overall this place is garbage compared to the price. It's really sad how far this course has fallen.

We really enjoyed our time at Eaglesticks! Every staff member that we interacted with was incredibly friendly. It was our first time, and everyone was more than willing to explain the set up to us. My husband enjoyed playing the course. Thank you so much for all the effort, we had so much fun!

After hearing some positive things about Eaglesticks, I decided to make the two-hour drive to check it out for myself. Heading in, I had mixed emotions—excited from the buzz I'd heard, but also cautiously optimistic. The course offers a decent practice green and a range, which is always a good start. The staff was friendly, and they even had a greeter at hole one to give you a helpful rundown of the course rules and what to expect. Now, let me start with the not-so-great parts. Much of the fairways and tee boxes were suffering from the summer heat, leaving them burnt out and rough. Their signature hole, a par 3 over a lake (hole #10), was particularly disappointing. It looked like the area had just been scorched by a ground fire, and the fairway felt more like concrete—the ball would roll for what felt like two miles! To be fair, the whole region has been dealing with this issue, so it wasn’t entirely surprising, but it still didn’t meet my expectations. On the upside, the putting greens were in decent shape, which made up for some of the rougher spots. One thing that really stood out about Eaglesticks was the significant elevation changes from hole to hole, giving each one a unique and well-designed feel. The variety kept the round interesting and challenging in a good way. The sand traps were another plus—they were well-maintained and fluffy (and yes, I found myself in a few of them). If I were to visit again, I’d definitely aim for early summer or fall when the conditions might be a little more forgiving. Overall, despite some rough patches, I thought it was a great track and I’d happily return to play again.

Great layout and well kept course. Greens putt true and are nice and fast. Love this course we drive an hour and half to play this a few times each year.

For a public course it was in great condition. You have to be in shape to get to the tee boxes and greens. Lots of up and downs and uneven lies.
