Course Overview

Rocky Lakes Golf Course offers a straightforward, 18-hole public layout set in Springfield, Ohio. Characterized by its mostly flat topography, the course presents a blend of approachable fairways peppered with water hazards that demand some attention from all skill levels. Its parkland style features several ponds strategically placed near tee boxes and greens, introducing a natural element that challenges a player’s precision without overwhelming beginners.

The course stretches over a moderate total yardage, inviting a variety of shots and strategy without requiring prodigious length off the tee. It is a course where placement and patience often trump raw power. The greens are known to roll relatively true, which rewards thoughtful putting.

Amenities include a simple clubhouse and practice areas, facilitating warm-ups before rounds. Though golf carts are available, walking the course is both feasible and welcomed, especially during dry weather. Visitors should plan accordingly during wetter periods, as drainage can be an issue. The welcoming local community makes it a suitable stop for players traveling through Central Ohio.

For those looking to improve their game or play a relaxed round without the pressure of a highly manicured environment, Rocky Lakes Golf Course presents an honest golf outing. Its ponds frame key holes with quiet intent, and the openness of the landscape lets light and breeze enter freely, subtly influencing each shot. I looked at a lot of bad reviews before playing today. I thought it was a really nice layout. Only bad thing was all the ponding from 2 inches of rain overnight. That said, greens rolled really true and smooth. I really enjoyed this course.

First time playing this course. Played 9 holes. Being a beginner golfer, the first hole was a challenge - a pond right by the tee. Needless to say, lost a ball. There are other ponds along the course. Mostly a flat course.

Paid for 18 but only played 9 holes at Rocky Lakes golf course today. Greens were OK but the rough is too rough, too tall and WAY too many weeds. Had trouble finding the balls. Went to Bogey’s afterwards, and the beer was cold and food was great.

Not even worthy of one star. I've only been playing couple months put I've played most courses within a hour of me. This is by fair worst course I've ever been too. I'm not good but I'm not terrible every single ball I hit into the rough I lost over then 2 or 3. The grass is tall and has so many weeds if u don't hit fairway don't even bother trying. Even made some good shots few on fairway still can't see it endless ur 2 feet from the ball. I will never come back here took me a minute to find the last hole hit my shot and it was just right of fairway in the rough I just left. I knew that ball was lost even only being 10ft of the fairway. Will never come back. If ur looking for a course with similar price try greywolf, homestead, Jamaica run, cassel hills, reid park. All those course are same price or cheaper and there all nice courses unlike this one

I would give this course a zero stars if I could. I have been to many courses all over the country and this by far is the worst course I’ve ever seen. No maintenance has been done so many weeds in the fairways I’ve never seen fairways have a grass length of over 6 inches. Even if you manage to hit the fairway good luck finding your ball for your next shot. Apparently the mowers blades are so dull they laid the grass over instead of cutting it. I would pay double what this course charges to have a decent golfing experience. I’ve been to this course over the years many times and had a good experience until just recently. Golfers go pay extra to golf a half way decent course.

If it were not for the fact that the greens were in decent shape, it would only be 1 star. The blue tee boxes and fairways were overgrown with crabgrass. It has potential but needs some attention.

Not a good course at all. No par 5s on the front nine and is in rough shape. Staff was rude and very overpriced for such a bad course. Worst course in the area. Would definitely not recommend.

Got told by two workers that we could come out and play at the last teatime until sundown. then when we get the hole 13 on the back of the course, the worker comes out and ask us to leave and we ask why, and he said that he was in the wrong for letting us play. Course is awful fairways are terrible. Would not recommend this course to anybody.
