Course Overview
Homestead Springs Golf Course presents an 18-hole challenge set amid gently rolling terrain just outside Groveport, Ohio. This public course offers a straightforward yet engaging golfing experience suited to a broad range of players, from enthusiastic weekend golfers to those looking to sharpen their short game on firm, fast greens. The layout unfolds along quiet country roads, punctuated by subtle elevation changes that add interest without overwhelming less experienced players.
Fairways stretch long, rewarding solid drives but demanding accuracy as errant shots often lead to uneven lies or tightly mowed rough. The greens at Homestead Springs are notably quick and small, which invites careful approach shots and strategic putting. Players will find that even well-struck chips may struggle to stay on these receptive surfaces, making course management crucial. The course’s distinctive low wooden barrels marked with flowers indicate 150-yard distances, blending a rustic charm with functional course guidance. This feature helps players gauge their club selection confidently amid the open, sun-baked fairways shaped by Ohio’s seasonal heat.
Amenities include a welcoming clubhouse with a friendly staff known for assisting players promptly, a well-stocked beverage selection, and convenient snack options to keep energy levels high. Although the gravel cart paths can jostle riders, carts remain available by request, encouraging walking for those eager to savor the course’s quiet rural setting and fresh air. Walkers should bring sturdy shoes to navigate the varied lies and occasional slopes comfortably.
While some tee boxes could benefit from improved maintenance, the overall playing conditions present solid value, especially during weekday rounds. Homestead Springs is designed to be approachable yet thoughtfully testing, rewarding accuracy on approach and a steady putter. For golfers seeking an unpretentious, honest layout within easy reach of Groveport, this course offers a genuine Midwestern golf experience without pretense.
Course Highlights
The course is distinguished by its fast, small greens that demand precise approach shots. Unique 150-yard markers made from wooden barrels filled with flowers provide visual interest and distance guidance. Rock hard greens and very fast. You literally can't keep the ball on the green on approaches even on sky high shots. Very overated for the price you have to pay. Pace of play was good, but we played during the week. To many otherr courses around to play this one at a high price.

Friendly staff. Friendly players. Great beverage selection. Great snacks. Golf course along a quiet country road is quite good, plays long mostly. Good hole signage. Antique ball washers are cool. Low large wooden barrels filled with beautiful flowers act as 150-yard markers - a nice aesthetic. I like the holes with hills and unusual lies and groove on the mostly manicured tees and fast small greens. No obvious water management so the fairways are baked dry from 2024 Summer heat. I warn cart riders about the bone rattling gravel cart paths.

Course is in average condition. $55 for 18 is really not realistic here, especially in mid October. Tee boxes are crap, maybe $40 for 18.. disappointed and not a good value
