Hickory Hills Golf Club
Hickory Hills Golf Club delivers a private, 18-hole championship experience set among rolling terrain and scenic ravines. Known for fast, smooth greens and strategic bunkering, it offers an engaging challenge that balances precision with playability.
Course Overview
Hickory Hills Golf Club offers a compelling blend of challenge and natural beauty within its 18-hole championship layout. Located in Grove City, Ohio, this private course unfolds across rolling terrain marked by deep ravines and well-defined fairways that demand both strategy and precision. The course's undulating greens are fast and true, earning praise for their smooth, consistent surfaces that reward careful approach shots and solid putting strokes alike.
The design emphasizes a traditional, parkland style where the landscape plays a subtle yet firm role in shaping each hole’s character. Mature hardwoods frame many fairways, making accuracy off the tee essential, as thick rough penalties quickly remind golfers to keep the ball in play. Bunkers are thoughtfully placed, guarding key landing areas and greens, while the ample elevation changes create a rhythm that challenges shot-making without overwhelming any skill level.
Hickory Hills welcomes golfers seeking a private club experience steeped in quiet sophistication and well-maintained grounds. The course’s conditioning stands out, with vibrant greens and firm fairways reflecting careful upkeep by a dedicated grounds crew. The walking terrain is manageable for most players who prefer to experience the course on foot, offering a peaceful setting away from the distractions of residential development.
Practice facilities include a well-maintained range with the latest TaylorMade balls, as well as a large putting green and a pitching area designed to refine short game skills. The clubhouse complements the golf experience with a relaxed atmosphere perfect for post-round reflection or socializing.
With its combination of natural contouring and meticulous care, Hickory Hills challenges experienced golfers while remaining accessible to committed enthusiasts. It provides a golf experience where the landscape quietly demands respect, shaping thoughtful play and rewarding focus at every turn. For those pursuing membership, this course stands out as a rare example of a hidden gem in Central Ohio’s private golf community.

I’m fortunate enough to claim Hickory as the course where I learned how to golf. What I consider to be the hidden gem of central Ohio, hickory presents many challenges that will quickly humble the average golfer like myself. I will say that without a shred of a doubt the course is in as good of shape as I have ever seen it in my life. The greens are like glass, the bunkers actually have sand in them, and you’ll be punished be the rough for just slightly missing a fairway. Huge props to the grounds crew for the for maintaining the course at such a high level with little resources. This course should be at the top of everyone’s list if you’ve never had the chance to play it.

Played a round today as a prospective new member. The course was in amazing condition. The greens were stunning. Super fast rolling greens. Mini Augusta style. The layout is breathtaking with deep ravines amazing rolling landscape. Practice range was great. New Taylor Made range balls. Practice pitching green and large practice putting green. Staff was very nice and helpful. Downside for me and the only downside is the drive to get here. I will probably overlook that.

Met my father for a couple of beers on the patio. Beautiful setting. Didn't realize the place was founded in 1979. I don't golf, but if I did, I would definitely be a member of this club. Didn't get to meet the pro, but all the people on the patio said he's great and an amazing instructor and player.
