Course Overview

Set in the gentle plains just outside Bismarck, North Dakota, Apple Creek Country Club offers an 18-hole championship layout that challenges and rewards with equal measure. This private course presents a blend of natural prairie terrain and thoughtful course design, shaping a golf experience that is both demanding and approachable for a range of skill levels. The fairways weave through rolling contours, while mature trees and native grasses punctuate the landscape, creating a course that reflects the regional character without overwhelming the golfer.

At just under 6,700 yards with a par of 72, Apple Creek’s design emphasizes precision over brute distance. Narrow fairways and deep rough test accuracy from the tee, with a particularly noteworthy 9th hole that pushes players to engage strategic shot placement amid well-protected greens. Those who enjoy a well-rounded challenge will appreciate how the course balances scoring opportunities with demanding trouble spots.

We went there for their Easter buffet. The reason I gave it only one star is there was nothing said that there would be an automatic gratuity put on until she handed me my bill. There were five of us and the check was 123.00. They added almost a twenty seven dollar tip.All they brought us was coffee and water .

The website home page states that this is an “enjoyable” course “whether you are a scratch golfer or just taking up the game, you are ensured of having a great time.” Having just taken up the game myself, there was nothing enjoyable or ensuring about this. Narrow fairways. 7 inch grass in the rough directly off the fairways. I was having to take penalty drops in the rough after 20 minute searches for my balls that were seen to have landed within 5 yards off the fairway. Do not believe them when they say this course is for golfers that are just taking up the game. This course is for golfers that suck their clubs off in the morning. To top it off it was $90. I’d rather have a stripper take a $100 bill from my mouth without using her hands.

The course is in great shape, much improved from last year. The rough is long and difficult, probably a little too long. The clubhouse is clean, neat and orderly. The staff is very pleasant and courteous. Hole 9 is challenging. Its nice to have a beverage cart on the course, thank you. The lounge staff was great.
