Course Overview

Located in the heart of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Los Altos Golf Course and Banquet Facility offers an approachable and inviting golfing experience ideal for players of all levels. This 18-hole municipal course weaves through the desert’s gentle terrain with a layout that balances straightforward fairways and subtly challenging greens. While it may not boast the length or prestige of championship courses, Los Altos compensates with accessibility and a relaxed pace that encourages enjoyment over intimidation.

The course’s par 60 setup covers a modest distance that rewards accuracy and strategic shot-making rather than raw power. With holes that run alongside natural washes and low desert vegetation, the setting reflects the high desert environment without overwhelming the player. Early morning or evening rounds reveal crisp desert air and cooling breezes that temper the day’s heat, making those tee times especially appealing.

Los Altos is particularly welcoming to beginners and intermediate golfers seeking an affordable, low-pressure venue to hone their skills. The course’s flat to gently rolling terrain offers a pleasant walking experience without steep climbs, and a pull cart rental service is available for added comfort. For those who prefer to focus on function over form, the practice facilities including a driving range and putting green are sufficient to prepare for a round or sharpen specific strokes.

Beyond the golf course itself, the Banquet Facility provides versatile event spaces with scenic views, making Los Altos a community hub beyond fairways and greens. The friendly staff and reasonable green fees reflect the course's focus on accessibility, although some visitors note that service can vary.

Whether stepping onto the first tee to unwind after work or spending a weekend morning chasing improvement, Los Altos offers a straightforward golf outing under the expansive New Mexico sky. It suits those who value a clean course without pretense and an honest test that rewards steady play. Planning your visit for cooler hours will maximize comfort, with the peaceful desert landscape quietly shaping each shot and round.

Captivating course in the middle of albuquerque. My dad played here in the 1970's after it first opened. Golf snobs won't like it, but at this price this is a gem that an excellent golfer could scorch for a 60's score. Great in the evening when desert cools off.

Great place to hit some balls with a beautiful view. I was from out of town on work in Albuquerque and needed to take a break. Los Altos provided me an oasis from work and gave me a much needed release. Good price and location.

When I called yesterday I talked to a very nice gentleman who was very helpful iasked if they could set aside a golf bag for my husband for Father’s Day for me to pick up. when I called on 6/6 to see if I could pay over the phone so it was held for sure the man I spoke to was extremely rude making me feel like I was an inconvenience then proceeding to talk to somebody else to see if they knew what was going on because apparently he just got to work the whole time having a super bad attitude then asked this other guy if he knows anything about it and is talking about the bag and proceeds to say blah blah blah blah blah? … They just lost my business. No reason to treat somebody like that.
