Course Overview

Charleston Springs Golf Course in Millstone, New Jersey, presents a refreshing escape for golfers seeking a thoughtfully crafted 36-hole experience. The facility offers two distinct 18-hole layouts—the South and North courses—each delivering challenging play amid rolling terrain and well-maintained landscapes. Known for its balanced test of golf, Charleston Springs blends classic parkland styling with subtle elevation changes, fostering variety shot-making without overwhelming novices.

The South Course demands precision with its strategic bunkering and subtle undulations, rewarding players who can manage approach shots carefully onto firm, receptive greens. The North Course, slightly more forgiving, still keeps players engaged with tree-lined fairways and thoughtful green complexes. Water hazards feature sparingly but effectively, nudging players to weigh risk and reward on several holes.

What sets Charleston Springs apart is its comprehensive practice facilities. Extensive short game areas and expansive putting greens allow golfers to sharpen every element of their game before stepping on the first tee. The grounds remain in notably good condition throughout the season, a tribute to the diligent maintenance team who keep fairways pristine and fringe trims crisp.

The course’s location within Central New Jersey makes it easily accessible for players coming from nearby communities seeking a quality public golf outing that accommodates a wide range of skill levels. The walkability of both courses invites those who prefer to navigate the layout on foot, with terrain gentle enough to avoid excessive fatigue, though sturdy golf shoes are recommended for early morning dew.

PLAY HERE BEFORE THE 2023 GOLF SEASON IS OVER! *I’ve played thrice since August* This place is so well run. From the extensive short game practice area to the massive practice putting greens, this is a must play course. As my photos show, the fairways and fringe are in phenomenal condition. I played during late August, mid-September, and early October and the place stays PRIME. Pace of play is great and the staff are quite friendly. Arrive early and take advantage of the practice areas. The South course is challenging enough even when playing from the tips. All parts of your game are used when here. Seriously, get here and play.

Great county course. Well maintained, two 18 hole courses, putting green, chipping area, and grass driving range. Only downside is that the clubhouse is outdated.

Charleston South. Early tee time. Muggy but ok. Sand traps remain a challenge at Charleston, both North and South. They lack sand and drainage. What sand they do have becomes hard packed, causing the club to skip.

Grew up learning the game in New Jersey, but now reside in South Carolina.. I missed the distinct feel of the courses in Jersey as opposed to the flat swamp golf of Myrtle Beach. Don't take courses like this for granted! And FIX YOUR BALL MARKS!

I've played both of their courses over 100 times back when I lived in NJ, and always enjoyed them. Always nice conditions, they are very well maintained county courses. The courses are long, but very walkable.
