Course Overview

Located in New Kent, Virginia, The Club at Viniterra offers an 18-hole championship golf experience set within a landscape defined by gentle elevation changes and mature woodlands. This private course stretches over 7,100 yards from the back tees, challenging even the longest hitters while welcoming players of varying skill levels through multiple teeing options. The layout demands thoughtfulness on every hole, rewarding strategic shotmaking and control over sheer power.

The course’s design weaves through rolling terrain that provides panoramic views of the nearby New Kent Winery, lending an understated, natural beauty without overwhelming the playing experience. Fairways are generously wide and maintained to a high standard, inviting confident drives, yet the placement of bunkers and water hazards creates risk-reward decisions off the tee and on approaches. The greens at Viniterra are known for their smoothness and speed, requiring precision with both putting and approach shots to navigate subtle slopes and undulations.

Players will find The Club at Viniterra approachable yet firm, perfectly balancing challenge with accessibility. Its multiple sets of tees allow golfers to tailor their round to their ability, whether seeking to simply enjoy the walk among scenic hardwoods or test their skills on a demanding layout designed to reveal weaknesses. The course’s contours also provide variety in lies and shot shapes, keeping play engaging from the first hole to the last.

Beyond the course itself, patrons benefit from a well-appointed clubhouse, warm hospitality, and attentive staff who enhance the overall experience. Additional amenities include a fully equipped driving range featuring all-grass tees and well-kept practice greens for both putting and chipping, though the short game area remains modest in size. Beverage cart service circulates during play, offering convenient refreshment on warmer days.

For golfers planning a trip, sturdy walking shoes are recommended due to the terrain’s subtle hills, and comfortable attire suitable for private club standards is expected. While the course favors long hitters, its careful architectural nuances encourage thoughtful navigation, making The Club at Viniterra a compelling destination for those seeking a blend of natural beauty, strategic golf, and Southern charm.

Viniterra, along with RNK, StoneHouse & Brickshire combine these 4 local gems to make for the best 72 holes in Virginia! Even with last week's Aeration, the greens here already proved very true and fair. Stacey on refreshment duty was so friendly as was our pro shop chap! Only disappointments were the teeboxes on 15... and the bald tires. Yikes!

One of the nicer courses I've ever played, fantastic fairways, great greens....but miserable bunkers, and by miserable I mean extremely difficult (very fluffy, all good things but my gosh). Awesome course all around, a must go to for the Richmond area Things to be aware of -Long course, have to be able to hit far -Don't hit into sand -Greens are fast -Don't hit into sand -Fairways are in excellent shape -Course design is excellent, constantly making you think about the next shot -Don't hit into sand

Still the best course around! Played today in the scorching heat and the course was in excellent condition. The fairways were perfect. Like most courses, the greens have a few marks where careless golfers haven't repaired pitch marks, but overall Vinterra is amazing.

I love this course. The greens, tee boxes and fairways were excellent. The layout is long, you'll get plenty of opportunity for driver and long irons. You can play this course for multiple yardages due to the large assortment of t-box areas. The greens are slippery! May take some getting adjusted to. The course itself is very beautiful in a wooded area in New Kent right behind the New Kent Winery. I found the staff to be very helpful and enthusiastic. Which is such a great change from some other courses. Charlie at the front desk is awesome! Their food assortment is relatively good they do have a beverage cart that roams the course. The driving range is all grass and well laid out. On a side note, the driving range balls are all in good shape and not old and worn out which I appreciate. The only criticism I have is I wish they had a better short game facility. They do have a putting and a chipping green but the chipping green is small and in a confined area.

We did not feel welcomed here. We are from overseas on a trip. The course design was beautiful but the recent rain damaged the fairways. Greens were good. The group behind us kept pushing us. Almost hit us twice with their tee shots. We were playing on or ahead of pace. They looked tobe locals or members.
