Plainfield Country Club features an 18-hole parkland course known for its strategic design and mature tree-lined fairways. This private championship course offers a thoughtful test of golf accessible to a variety of skill levels, complemented by traditional clubhouse amenities and serene surroundings.
Course Overview
Plainfield Country Club stands as a distinguished private sanctuary for golfers seeking a classic, well-crafted 18-hole championship experience close to Edison, New Jersey. The course unfolds across gently rolling parkland that blends carefully manicured fairways with strategic natural hazards, creating an engaging test where precision and course management guide your round. Each hole benefits from a thoughtful layout that encourages thoughtful play rather than power alone, making it a compelling venue for a wide range of skill levels.
Set amid mature trees and subtle elevation changes, the course rewards players with a variety of shots from tee to green. Bunkers are prudently placed to protect key angles and guard receptive greens, demanding respect without overwhelming the amateur golfer. While competitive players can challenge their skills with well-placed drives and strategic approach shots, those newer to the game will find multiple avenues to navigate the course’s challenges without feeling daunted.
Beyond the golf itself, the club offers a traditional clubhouse facility providing comfortable amenities for members and guests. Whether you arrive early for practice or unwind after a round, the clubhouse ambiance complements the day’s play with well-appointed locker rooms and dining options. The club’s private status ensures a serene atmosphere free from outside interruptions, allowing golfers to focus fully on their game and the subtle drama embedded in the layout.
Located in the Central New Jersey region, Plainfield Country Club’s setting is both accessible and tasteful. The tree-lined fairways and seasonal color changes offer a visual rhythm that shifts with the year, tailoring your round to the calendar. Players who favor a thoughtful, parkland-style course with a traditional footprint will appreciate the balance Plainfield strikes between challenge and enjoyment.
Planning a visit means anticipating an environment that respects walking play and encourages strategic shots across an 18-hole par 72 layout stretching just over 6,700 yards from the back tees. Seasonal conditions can vary, but the course’s maintenance standards hold firm through much of the year, making it a reliable choice for consistent golf in the New Jersey landscape.
Course Highlights
The course is characterized by its parkland style with mature hardwood trees framing fairways and greens. Strategically placed bunkers offer tactical challenges especially around the greens, while subtle elevation changes create a variety of approach angles. The layout balances accessibility with strategic depth, making each hole a distinct test of shot-making and course management.

A great gym right in beautiful Saranac Lake! This is a truly marvelous place, young smart owner, three floors of fitness, reasonably priced, not too crowded and not too expensive great hours 4am - 10pm MF 7a - 7p weekends. Just book an appointment to get started, Jeremiah, a personable friendly family man and competent ex-athlete and manager will get you set up, then you just come in whenever using the fob. Jeremiah is a real good guy he knows what he's doing and has a number of optional fresh ideas for working out, like a Jacob's ladder or the hack squat, but is easygoing and low key in his quick and easy to understand presentation. Really makes a trip to Saranac Lake totally worth it! A great gym for the Adirondacks!

SLOVE is an okay facility. If you are looking for a place to workout that’s local this is for you. They do not allowed guest/day passes. The gym is in a 4 story old building so the layout and space is exceedingly cramped when there are more than 5 people per floor. If you have worked out at other gyms be prepared for poor gym etiquette and equipment selection. Not many members put their equipment away, put it away where it goes, or provide space for you to get to what you need. Expect ego lifting, expect people to be spamming curls 6 inches away from the rack. Expect to have to go to 4 different weight trees to find the plates you’re looking for. That all said, Jeremiah the owner is very kind and flexible and is working hard to get better equipment!

Jeremiah was very welcoming and easy to contact about dropping in while I was visiting the area. This gym has plenty of equipment spread throughout the entire building. I was easily able to complete strength work to prepare for The Arnold.

SLove has been my favorite hometown gym experience so far, and it’s the only place I’ll go in the area…hands down! Jeremiah is knowledgeable and helpful, and he and his wife have brought a lot of great changes and upgrades to the space. They have rearranged, brightened, replaced and continuously take great care of their members. They care about what machines and equipment matter to their members, and are always working to make the fitness area the best it can be. As of recently, they have also introduced a grab & go style food option which is super convenient, healthy and delicious! Highly recommend.

Fantastic Gym. Three levels split into different exercise areas. Two to three of every machine and rack you could want. Clean and organised. I was spoilt, wish every town had this.
