Course Overview

Plainfield Country Club, located just outside Edison in Central New Jersey, offers an 18-hole private golf experience that challenges and rewards players across all skill levels. Set upon rolling parkland terrain, the layout features a classic championship design with shots that demand strategic thought rather than brute force. The fairways sweep gently between mature trees, while well-placed bunkers guard the greens with quiet vigilance, inviting golfers to carefully consider each approach.

The course’s 6,800 yards from the championship tees test low handicappers with tight driving corridors and subtle green slopes. Yet multiple tee boxes ensure playability for intermediate and casual players, making the venue approachable without sacrificing challenge. The gentle undulations and generous landing areas offer a welcome balance for golfers focused on shot-making rather than length alone.

Visitors—and members alike—find the club’s well-maintained practice facilities a perfect place to sharpen skills before stepping onto the course. The spacious clubhouse commands views over several holes, creating a relaxed atmosphere to unwind after a round. Members enjoy fully stocked pro shop services, locker rooms, and dining options that blend casual and refined settings.

The course’s intimate setting within Central New Jersey’s lush landscape delivers quiet moments on the course where the only interruptions come from the soft rustling of leaves and the positional test of the gentle breezes that cross the property. Players should prepare for walks between holes that reveal varied terrain, making comfortable golf shoes essential.

Plainfield Country Club is a spot where tradition meets thoughtful design, providing an environment that rewards precision and patience. Its layout invites reflection on each swing, making every round an engaging journey. For those seeking a private setting that respects the game's fundamentals while offering a touch of New Jersey’s greenery, Plainfield stands apart as a rewarding destination that challenges the body and the mind.

Holy crap this golf course is absolutely incredible. The greens are extremely challenging and even if you are a scratch golfer, I dare you to try to get par here on your own. Amazing views, and absolutely top-notch venue.

I work alot in the area and they don't manage things very well. I don't know what it's like to be a rich folk up there so maybe it's different.

This is a beautiful course that is being ruined by the developer built track homes that are lining the course. The architecture is bland and boring and repetitive. It’s too bad they took this beautiful land and trashed it up with the ugly houses. The houses Dye CB purse are unique cutome builds that add to the course. The houses on this course looks cheap and crowded

One of the most beautiful and well manicured courses I've ever played (and I've played a lot of great courses). The green complexes are tough, but the course is fair. This facility is top notch. Too bad it's so private most people will never get a chance to play!
