Course Overview

Set just outside Edison, New Jersey, Plainfield Country Club offers a refined golfing experience within the heart of Central New Jersey. This private 18-hole championship course is designed to balance both challenge and enjoyment, accommodating golfers who appreciate strategic shot-making without sacrificing pace of play. The course showcases a traditional parkland layout where mature trees frame fairways, and subtle elevation changes invite thoughtful club selection. The setting itself speaks to the club’s long heritage, the expansive grounds unfolding amid gentle woodlands and landscaped areas that shift with the seasons but remain inviting year-round. The clubhouse anchors the property with classic architecture and offers a refined setting for post-round relaxation or gathering with members. Dining and locker room facilities uphold the club’s polished atmosphere, catering to both social and competitive aspects of the game.

Walking the course is encouraged and straightforward, with gently rolling terrain that suits most players comfortable on foot. Golfers preparing for a visit should bring sturdy shoes suited for varied turf conditions and be ready for typical seasonal weather. Tee times are reserved for members and their guests, with dress standards reflecting traditional country club etiquette.

Best 9 hole course in the area. Course is very well maintained, greens roll true, and the wooded setting is tranquil and beautiful. Hole design is solid and there's good variety across only 9 holes with multiple tee boxes. Rates are very fair, facilities are in great shape, pro shop is well stocked. The bar and restaurant is a hidden gem. I expected the food to be just adequate, but it's awesome. We now come here just for food or a drink even without golfing. So glad to have this place close to home.

Called to order a pizza. I was told the pizza was $21. Ended up being $27 because of a card fee which I get. But the $2 to go fee was never mentioned- and is pretty excessive. If I sat down to eat would I be charged to take my leftovers home? Woman up front said if it was delivery there would be a delivery fee- which makes zero sense because I drove here to pick up my own pizza and I'm still being charged more for it. Won't eat here again out of the sheer principle that it's insane to charge people to charge not just $1 but $2 to pick up their own food. Wonder if I ordered delivery if I would still have to pay $2 for the box too. Ridiculous.
