Plainfield Country Club

Edison, New Jersey, USACentral New Jersey

Plainfield Country Club offers an 18-hole private parkland course in Central New Jersey that combines natural beauty with strategic shot-making challenges. With rolling fairways, mature hardwoods, and well-guarded greens, it delivers a refined, classic golfing experience tailored mainly for low and mid-handicap players.

Course Overview

Plainfield Country Club stands as an exclusive 18-hole private golf venue that blends traditional parkland design with a subtle complexity aimed at rewarding strategic play. Situated just outside Edison in Central New Jersey, this championship-length course measures approximately 6,900 yards from the back tees, set to a par 72. The rolling fairways and mature hardwoods define its character, offering both visual serenity and a challenge that demands thoughtful shot placement and touch around the greens.

The layout unfolds over terrain that gently rises and falls, presenting elevation changes that influence club selection and shot trajectory. Well-positioned bunkers guard many of the greens, often forcing players to carefully evaluate risk versus reward. Water hazards appear strategically to test approach accuracy without overwhelming the course’s natural flow. The course caters primarily to low and mid-handicap players who appreciate a well-balanced test, yet its multiple tee boxes provide a playable experience for golfers seeking a less daunting round.

Plainfield Country Club’s setting is tranquil, surrounded by mature woodlands that buffer the property from nearby development. The clubhouse, a classic facility with refined amenities, serves members and their guests with dining rooms, locker rooms, and practice areas including a driving range and short-game greens. Walking is encouraged, with well-maintained paths and terrain suited to an enjoyable walk, though carts remain available for those who prefer.

This course is known for preserving a classic golf atmosphere in a private environment where pace of play and course conditions are prioritized. Each hole unfolds with a distinct personality — some rewarding careful patience, others inviting bold strategy. The blend of natural beauty and subtle architectural decisions makes Plainfield a coveted venue for golfers aiming to test their full skill set while enjoying a polished, comfortable setting.

For visitors planning a round, consider early morning tee times when conditions are calm, and the course is pristine. Proper footwear is recommended to navigate the varied slopes and subtle undulations. While Plainfield demands respect from shot-makers, it equally rewards those who approach it with a thoughtful mindset and appreciation for classic golf design.

Great casino for the Upper Peninsula! They had restaurants open late until 1pm which is handy if you are on a roll in the casino. The food at 1am wasn't exceptional but it was prompt and the service was excellent. The machine selection was fantastic for a UP casino and the payouts were amazing, even on smaller bets. Good drinks and a clean environment. They could stand to clean out the smoking area machines more consistently, and tone down the smoke flavor on the burgers - the burgers were made on a flat top but seemed to be sprayed with smoke flavoring to make it taste like it came from a grill. It was not to my taste but others might appreciate it. Couldn't lose on the slot machines, jackpots and bonuses hit consistently and the payouts were excellent. Won over 80 free games on a Buffalo slot, winning almost $500 on an .80 bet. Our visit was just a pop-in while passing through. We had an amazing time and would like to return to experience the hotel and spa services!

It was a nice stay! We stayed in the south palm tower. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Pool wasn't available but they offered access to the water park area. I love that there is a bar right downstairs, along with a restaurant for late eating. Definitely would stay here again for the price! Thanks y'all!

If you're looking for a golf trip with no concerns about gambling then this place is great. If you're interested in gambling at all, don't go here. It is almost impossible to get a seat a table game unless you wait for multiple hours. We have been here two nights and there have been multiple tables available with about 20 people waiting and they won't open a table. In my opinion they don't open tables so that more people will play slot machines.

I was passing through And saw this Casino with ample enough parking for a semi And decided to take a break And play a few games I’m not a slot player but I did try my luck at the tables. They had 10$ two deck no mid entry pitch blackjack game. I played for about one hours just enough to give me a break from the road. The staff was friendly. The atmosphere was great.

I normally don’t feel the need for any of this, but my disappointment in this establishment is profound. Brittany (with the fat mole) at the front desk on 5/20/2025 had THE WORST attitude and was not helpful at all. I’m a club member and had a discount. It instantly slurred, “that’s not the right price” I don’t know if she has something going on at home or possibly under the influence, but taking whatever issues she has on customers is crazy. I think management should talk to her. Definitely will not be coming back based off her.

It’s a great Northern Casino. They’ve got slots, a real table Pit with Blackjack, Craps, Roulette. There is a Sports Betting side room. Top tier Casino action. There is a showroom where the layout and size are appropriate to ensure everyone has a good view. I’ve seen concerts and stand up shows here. The Hotel rooms are exactly what you would expect. There is a 18+ pool room that features a Hot tub, Dry Sauna, Steam Room and a Salt Water Pool. There is Splash Island. A small fee to get it but seems nice. A couple of slides, child friendly pool, splash area and another hot tub. Lifeguards. There is an RV park along the back of the parking lot. There is Casino shuttle available. Really good priced, powered. The Breakfast restaurant is good. Providing staple breakfast offerings.
