Plainfield Country Club
Plainfield Country Club presents an 18-hole private parkland course that invites golfers to navigate tree-lined fairways and meticulously maintained greens. Its layout offers a blend of strategic challenges and approachable playability, making it a compelling destination in central New Jersey.
Course Overview
Plainfield Country Club offers an 18-hole championship layout set within the gently rolling terrain of central New Jersey. This private course reveals a parkland style molded by mature trees and subtle elevation shifts that demand strategic shot-making rather than overpowering distance. The routing balances holes that reward precision with opportunities to test creativity, making it engaging for golfers across a broad range of skill levels.
From the tee boxes, players confront a landscape framed by towering hardwoods that filter sunlight onto fairways and greens, crafting a playing environment where focus and patience become key. Bunkers are positioned carefully to protect greens and challenge approaches, while the greens themselves hold firm and true, inviting thoughtful putting lines. The natural contours of the land sculpt fairways that undulate gently, forcing golfers to consider stance and lie before each swing.
This course suits discerning players who enjoy parkland layouts that emphasize finesse over raw power. While challenging for low handicaps with pinpoint approach shots, the course provides multiple tees to ensure the experience remains approachable for higher handicaps looking to improve their game. Seasonal conditions typically favor spring through fall play when the course’s emerald fairways and lush greens come into full view.
Plainfield Country Club’s clubhouse acts as a refined hub, offering members well-appointed facilities to relax before or after their rounds. The club’s atmosphere upholds a tradition of classic golf, valuing sportsmanship and camaraderie. Walking the course is encouraged, as the close proximity between holes and gentle grades allow for an enjoyable, intimate pace essential to fully appreciating the course’s design threads.
Whether seeking a competitive round or a relaxed day immersed in natural beauty, Plainfield Country Club delivers a memorable golf experience built on strong architectural principles and a hospitality-minded environment. Planning to play here rewards thoughtful preparation and a readiness to engage with every hole’s subtle demands and quiet challenges.

Great first trip. Fried chicken dinner buffet. White meat and dark meat separate and labeled. Chicken tenders were real tenders but frozen. Good stuff all-round. Would love have to have had chicken brown gravy though. Like the stuff at KFC but better..... especially for the mash potatoes! Salad, green beans and bacon and biscuits all good too. Not a membe, was a guest. Just fyi

Golf course features a great layout with plenty of elevation changes and demanding shots. Greens were perfect - all rolled fast and true. Had a nice dinner with drinks after the round. Well done LCC!

Staff was excellent, patrons were classy, food was ok. Ordered the pork chop, it came over cooked, presentation was decent, sides were good. Service was superb, and diningnarae was well maintained. Good choice of wine made the experience decent. Would give five stars, but the chef needs to work the menu and prep a bit more for quality and consistency. Would still recommend giving it a go, as my companions were very happy with there meals and experience.
