Sooo, I don't like to bring negativity into a review but our experience with Turf Valley was an overpriced slice of disappointment. I decided to take a chance and make reservations at the hotel as a low key getaway for my wife for Mother's Day and this was the first "traveling" we had done since the quarantine began last year. A tentative first toe in the waters, if you will. Turf Valley offers a spa, an in-hotel restaurant called Alexandra's featuring an "American fusion" menu, a fitness center and an indoor pool. With no prior experience with the hotel, I cannot gauge if the lackluster amount of engagement is a result of the social distancing restrictions Covid-19 has imposed on public spaces or if the service is just bad. First and last rule of the hospitality industry is making your guests feel welcome and we didn't feel welcome, we felt like we were a bother. Our preordered amenities for the room weren't available but the excuses were profuse. Patio dining wasn't available "because of rain" (see attached pics for the so-called rainy day), walking trails weren't available "because of renovations" even though the club members were all making their tee times and no evidence of ongoing construction was in sight. No curbside service offered at check in or check out. No smart TV or on-demand options in the room, just basic cable. The food at Alexandra's restaurant was fantastic but our server wasn't. With a dinner reservation made more than a week in advance, my family and I still had to wait in the lobby. No respect for our preferences in table and when the meal was done we were given another table's check! When you have had good service and been well taken care of, you are immediately aware of when you aren't. I was left apologizing to my wife for a special occasion get away that had us asking why we left home in the first place...

Lovely, quiet, resort. The rooms were very clean and had good amount of space. Even though we stayed during a weekend in the summer, the layout of the hotel allows for ample space that you hardly see anyone. We really enjoyed that they have an outdoor and an indoor pool. The outdoor pool is much larger, however it closes earlier than the indoor pool 8 p.m.. The bathrooms in the rooms were pretty large, and I enjoyed that they had an additional sink outside of the bathroom. The beds were comfortable, and we stayed in a room that had a semi balcony. The doors did open to the outside and you could stand outside, but there was no room for a chair or to sit down. It did overlook the golf course and fountain which was lovely. It would have been brilliant to have room for a few chairs outside. Even though we couldn't send her balcony, you could go downstairs to the ground floor and they did have chairs, outside, tables, and even a fire pit that was lit in full of great energy. The decor was wonderful, and reminded me of a modern nature vibe. Overall, a lovely experience at this hotel.
