Course Overview

Situated just minutes from Edison in Central New Jersey, Plainfield Country Club offers an 18-hole championship layout designed for members seeking a classic and challenging golf experience. As a private, members-only facility, the course prides itself on maintaining a traditional parkland style marked by rolling fairways framed with mature hardwoods and strategically placed bunkers that require thoughtful shot placement and course management. Greens are well-protected and feature moderately fast surfaces, requiring a keen eye for reading subtle breaks. While the layout presents enough challenge for low handicappers, it remains approachable for mid and higher handicaps, especially when teeing off from forward positions. Players often note the quiet, tree-lined fairways that create a sense of seclusion, despite the club’s proximity to urban areas.

The club supports walking, encouraging members to embrace the course’s natural contours on foot, with well-maintained paths and green surroundings ensuring comfortable play.

Throughout the year, the course is kept in excellent condition, with seasonal aerations timed to preserve turf health and playability. The landscape features small ponds that come into play on several holes, adding both strategy and aesthetic value without overwhelming the layout.

For golfers preparing to visit, sturdy walking shoes are recommended, and early morning tee times can offer the most tranquil conditions. Plainfield Country Club stands as an enduring example of a private parkland course that rewards patience and strategic thinking while offering a distinctly New Jersey golf atmosphere.

Course Highlights

I love this Top Golf location - it’s just a unique spot by the overpass and then the football stadium behind. The staff is always really nice here and the food is actually great. The chicken wings are always my go to but the burgers, nachos, and even the flat bread pizzas are all really good.

This was my groups first time/ experience at a Top Golf. I was pleased at the setup and design. I'm thankful I made reservations because it was packed and busy. In fact it was so busy our server couldn't give the best service. It took about 15min for her to come greet us and explain to us how it work but by then we had already read the starting instructions on the screen and had started a game. It took another 15min to get water and sweet teas. The food came out staggered so bad one of my son's completing finished eating before any purge food arrived. My other son ordered loaded fries, which came after our 90min session ended. The server removed the fries and was then very attentive so she can get us or to clean the area for the next customer. Finally she got a manager once she realized I was upset. The manager also removed and appetizer and part of the gaming fee. We had a great time playing but the food and service was bad

Took the baseball team here after the tournament, to relax and do some stress relief hitting that golf ball. This was the first time that I have been to a top golf, even tho there is one ten minutes from my house. I thought I would have no interest in even playing, but to my surprise I did pretty well, was able to get to the back net. The secret is to watch a quick video on how to hold the club, that wrist action works wonders. But for the place it’s self, it was clean, the staff was friendly with smiles. We were there for about 2 hours, with 12 people, there was at least 6 games for that amount of time with 2 rounds each player. It’s a great place to get together. Wish I had some video of the kids hitting the ball, power shots I tell you!
