The Jack Golf Course

Woodstock, New Hampshire, USACentral New Hampshire

The Jack Golf Course in Woodstock, NH, offers an approachable 18-hole public layout marked by flat terrain and gradual restoration following past flood damage. With inviting on-site accommodations and well-contoured greens, it provides a friendly golf experience suitable for all skill levels.

Course Overview

The Jack Golf Course offers an 18-hole challenge characterized by its flat terrain and a layout that embraces a straightforward, approachable style. Located in Woodstock, New Hampshire, this public course provides a refreshing atmosphere that blends natural New England scenery with a course design encouraging both casual enjoyment and strategic play. Though the course has faced adversity from flooding in recent years, current ownership has committed to gradual restoration, producing a venue that draws golfers eager for a unique, affordable experience with significant room for improvement.

From the opening tee, players will notice a course that tests shot-making rather than elevation changes or length. Fairways maintain a generous width, though recent playing conditions have included some exposed sandy tee boxes and uneven turf patches, a reflection of ongoing recovery efforts. The greens, however, offer a more consistent surface with well-defined contours that reward precision and pace control. The closing holes create a distinct rhythm by introducing tighter fairways alongside an active train track, adding subtle pressure that demands thoughtful club selection and accuracy.

Beyond the course itself, The Jack’s welcoming clubhouse atmosphere complements the golf experience. The pro shop is helpful and informative, with staff openly communicating course conditions and enhancements underway. For extended visits, on-site accommodations include comfortable condos within short walking distance of the first tee, complete with kitchen facilities and relaxing amenities such as a hot tub and pool. This seamless integration allows players to enjoy a full golf getaway without leaving the property.

Intended for all skill levels, The Jack is particularly suited for players seeking a relaxed round with room to fine-tune their game. Walking the course is encouraged, although the mostly sand and dirt cart paths suggest sturdy, comfortable footwear is advisable. While some rough and buggy areas remain, those visiting will find a friendly environment and a tangible sense of progress as the course steadily refines its character.

Overall, The Jack Golf Course stands as an evolving New England destination, where natural beauty and a straightforward layout combine with ongoing revitalization efforts to create an inviting space for golfers aiming to enjoy varied play and a welcoming community.

Pro shop made it clear the course was still battling back from a flood and that the conditions may not be ideal and the locals told me this new ownership is taking pride in getting the course into tip top shape. Lovely atmosphere and a great layout. Thoroughly enjoyed the course and would recommend it for anyone in the area!

We recently played the Jack while staying at Riverwalk for a family vacation. It was a nice break from that Florida heat where we live. We love the course great layout, and they are working hard to restore the course after the tragic floods from last summer. Greens were great And we had a super time. The staff from the Proshop to the bar and Grill and cart staff and starters were all very friendly and accommodating. We especially like the new starter/cart guy Dom. We would definitely recommend this course to anyone in the area looking for a fun place to play with beautiful views.

The staff is so so so so friendly Because of that I totally would go back, which I did after the first 9 hole on my first round playing there. Went back for a twilight round for the back 9 the next day. This place was supposedly flooded two years ago and was destroyed. Been rebuilding since so as you see in the pictures some of the surfaces are in rough shape. Almost every tee box was hitting off the hard sand, fairways were in solid condition but greens are good, 7/10 grading for the greens. This is a rather flat course, the last two holes are very interesting with tight fairways next to a train track. Overall this is not a bad place. With improvements, this will be the top 10 within the state

Beautiful views, friendly staff, awesome accommodations, & fun golf, The Jack has it all! My friends and I have been making an annual trip to the Jack for the past 3 years. They offer a very affordable package and Taylor makes the booking process quick and easy. The condos are with in a stones through of the course and offer plenty of space. Full kitchen, clean, and a hot tub/pool area great for relaxing after a day of golf. The club house serves some great food and beverages, making it so you don’t have to venture out too far. The course offers some of the most picturesque views in NH, and a lot of unique ways to play the course. The current owners have taken a once neglected course and are bringing it back to life. The Jack emphasizes fun and is perfect for anyone looking for an affordable trip. Thank you to everyone at The Jack for providing such a great experience.

Course is in VERY rough shape . The positives are the greens and the golf carts . Layout is very good . The people working there are very friendly and very nice . That’s the good stuff. Unfortunately - this course didn’t have one good fairway. I am attaching photos , but there was no real carpet-like fairway . Half the round - we were hitting off dirt patches . The tee boxes are all dirt and just about every hole - I was finding another spot to get a good tee shot . It’s too bad because there is a ton of potential and the gentleman in the clubhouse was very nice , but I was honest with him and told him I would never go back there. Also - the bugs were relentless and the cart paths were pretty much all dirt and sand . Really not an enjoyable round

My friends and I have been staying at The Jack condos for years (~15) and play The Jack golf course 3-4 times each stay. Since the Shamberger family has taken over the course, we have seen some great improvements to the golf course and to the clubhouse. First the course - so much work has been done on the golf course. They have cleared many trees making it much more playable and scenic. The greens are in outstanding shape! We really like the layout and the great views of the Pemi and the mountains. And the clubhouse - It has been completely renovated from the Pro Shop to the Bar and Restaurant. Previously we just paid our green fees and played, now we stop at the turn for a drink and invited the spouses over and had a great meal in the restaurant. Everyone enjoyed their meals. Eon did a great job serving us and everything was reasonably priced. Great atmosphere with great views of the course and mountains. This was once a "shabby" golf course and it's only been a few years under the new ownership, but they have done so much to improve it. There have been noticeable improvements each year and we are excited to return and see what is new and improved next year.
