Kearsarge Valley Golf Course

North Sutton, New Hampshire, USACentral New Hampshire

Kearsarge Valley Golf Course features an 18-hole parkland layout marked by rolling hills and strategic elevation changes. This public New England course offers a mix of challenges for all skill levels amid a quietly rural setting with classic golf terrain.

Course Overview

Kearsarge Valley Golf Course offers an 18-hole experience shaped by the rolling hills and natural contours of North Sutton, New Hampshire. This public layout reflects a traditional parkland style, where elevation changes and tree-lined fairways demand thoughtful shot selection. While the course is modest in maintenance compared to some modern facilities, it presents a fair challenge with its mix of uphill and downhill approaches that test control and strategy.

The setting is quietly rural, framed by the region’s forested landscape and dotted with stone walls that hint at the area’s history. Several holes navigate subtle elevation shifts that influence club choice and demand respect for the terrain’s natural flow. Greens can play slower and less consistent in early spring due to seasonal recovery but generally hold well enough to reward precise iron play. Bunkers, while notable with stone elements present, require attention and emphasize course management.

Players of various skill levels will find elements to appreciate; the par 5s offer scoring chances but call for measured aggression, while the par 3s and shorter par 4s challenge accuracy. The overall length is moderate, accommodating those looking for enjoyable rounds without excessive yardages. Frequent golfers value the variety offered by elevation and hole layout, which prevent the round from feeling routine.

Walkers should be prepared for some uphill segments and bring sturdy footwear, as the terrain, while walkable, is not uniformly smooth. Golf carts are available on request but walking is encouraged to engage fully with the course’s character. Though amenities are limited—there is no full clubhouse service—the course delivers a solid golf outing focused on traditional, straightforward play.

Visitors planning a round at Kearsarge Valley should anticipate a rustic experience bearing the marks of its natural landscape. With a mix of strategic holes and approachable playability, this course appeals to golfers who appreciate a simpler, honest day of golf immersed in New England’s seasonal shifts.

Course Highlights

The course stands out for its natural elevation changes that integrate into hole design, with several par 5s demanding strategic play. Stone-lined bunkers and tree-lined fairways add character, while the rural New England setting provides a serene backdrop. Its ranking as a traditional parkland layout offers both approachability and moments of challenge.

Now called Country Club of New Hampshire. Great, great, great layout. Variety of holes test whole game. Conditions: tees and fairways are ok, greens are slowish but pure. Bunkers are a little inconsistent. I would happily play here every day.

Course in much better shape than we thought. Greens running fast. Tees in good shape. Just no clubhouse amenities. Play was very slow

This is a great track. There are some challenging par 5 holes and lots of changes in elevation, make it a fun experience. Early 2022 some greens have yet to recover from the winter.

A great, old layout that has been minimally maintained for a long time. The great golf holes are overshadowed by the slow, furry greens and the stone filled bunkers. Hopefully the new incoming management team will turn things around.

Nice golf course. Management is not nice at all. Had a guy fallow me around the golf course making sure I dont tare it up witch i found insulting and ruined my golf trip for the day. Maybe would go again.
