Course Overview
Kearsarge Valley Golf Course in North Sutton, New Hampshire, offers an 18-hole experience that blends traditional design with the natural upland terrain of central New England. Originally laid out many decades ago, the layout remains a genuine challenge marked by undulating greens, elevation changes, and strategic par 5s that demand careful thought off the tee. The course’s parkland style winds through gentle hills and mature trees, framing each hole with a quiet dignity that reflects both its rural surroundings and classic golf architecture.
Golfers approaching Kearsarge Valley will find a test that balances challenge with accessibility. The fairways feature moderate width, encouraging players to trust their mid and long irons, while the greens - though known for occasional slow pace - reward precision and smart putting lines. Some bunkers display a rugged character, edged with natural stone, which adds texture to the defense around several key greens. Despite some wear in certain areas, the course’s inherent strategy remains intact, offering an engaging round for players with a range of handicaps.
The terrain’s natural undulation influences shot selection and stance, inviting golfers to adapt as they navigate uphill and downhill lies. Recent updates to management hint at improvements in maintenance, aiming to restore the course’s conditioning and pace while retaining its authentic character. Amenities around the course are modest, focused mostly on the essentials, with no large clubhouse or resort facilities, which keeps the experience rooted in straightforward, focused golf.
Visitors interested in walking the course should bring sturdy footwear; the rolling terrain brings some exertion, but ample tree cover provides shade on sunny days. Seasonally, spring and fall are particularly rewarding times to play, when the air is crisp and the colors of the landscape complement the course’s quiet intensity. Kearsarge Valley rewards thoughtful play over power, offering a measured challenge to those ready to engage with a course that respects tradition and encourages strategic golf at every turn.

A great, old layout that has been minimally maintained for a long time. The great golf holes are overshadowed by the slow, furry greens and the stone filled bunkers. Hopefully the new incoming management team will turn things around.

This is a great track. There are some challenging par 5 holes and lots of changes in elevation, make it a fun experience. Early 2022 some greens have yet to recover from the winter.

Now called Country Club of New Hampshire. Great, great, great layout. Variety of holes test whole game. Conditions: tees and fairways are ok, greens are slowish but pure. Bunkers are a little inconsistent. I would happily play here every day.

Nice golf course. Management is not nice at all. Had a guy fallow me around the golf course making sure I dont tare it up witch i found insulting and ruined my golf trip for the day. Maybe would go again.

Course in much better shape than we thought. Greens running fast. Tees in good shape. Just no clubhouse amenities. Play was very slow
