The Golf Club at Deer Chase in Linn Creek, Missouri presents an 18-hole course defined by elevation changes, water hazards, and accessible challenge. With smooth greens and strategically placed tees, it offers a rewarding experience for players of varying skill levels seeking a balanced test in a naturally inviting setting.

Course Overview

The Golf Club at Deer Chase offers an 18-hole layout that challenges without overwhelming, set in the gently rolling hills of Linn Creek, Missouri. This semi-private course presents a blend of specimen hardwoods, elevation shifts, and strategically placed water hazards that demand thoughtful shot-making. The design encourages a measured approach, rewarding players who balance distance with precision. Elevation changes define several holes, where elevated tee boxes extend views across fairways that undulate with natural contours. Water comes into play selectively, adding risk-reward elements rather than constant intimidation.

Course conditions vary with the season, but many players have commended the consistent quality of the greens, which feature smooth, receptive surfaces that test putting control without punishing the occasional misread. Tee boxes offer multiple options, making the course accessible to a broad range of skill levels. From longer tees that stretch yardage for the low handicapper to more forgiving forward tees catering to novices and casual players, Deer Chase appeals to those seeking an engaging yet fair test of golf.

The landscape invites a calm but focused round, with fairways framed by mature trees and natural grasslands. While water hazards appear thoughtfully, the course generally avoids relentless penalty areas, providing breathing room for strategic play. Walkers will appreciate the course’s moderate terrain, though attention to footwear is advised due to some uneven footing around tees and greens.

Amenities include a well-appointed clubhouse with dining facilities and a pro shop, creating a welcoming atmosphere for members and guests alike. While carts are available, many players choose to walk, embracing the chance to fully engage with the course’s rhythm and subtle nuances.

Visitors should note that play can vary seasonally, with spring and fall often offering the most favorable conditions. Golfers considering a visit are encouraged to prepare for a course that balances natural beauty with competitive elements and a pace that respects both social rounds and serious play. The Golf Club at Deer Chase rewards thoughtful strategy and offers a satisfying round that is both approachable and memorable.

Course Highlights

Elevated tee boxes provide expansive views, with fairways shaped by natural contouring and occasional water hazards that introduce strategic decision points. The Course was very well maintained and our group had an amazing time, on the other hand the course Marshall was very unprofessional. We may not be the best at golf but we were out there to play golf and have a good time. The choice words that he had said while watching some of the guys tee off was very disrespectful and way out of line. Not sure if will end up making it back out Deer Chase golf course bc of this incident with the course Marshall.

I really enjoyed the scenery, the many elevated tee boxes, and the course was in excellent condition. Quite a bit of water, but doesn't really come into play, if hitting your driver straight. Several risk vs. reward holes, where less than driver would be fine. I had a great time, and would definitely play it again.

If you are planning a trip here. Save your money and go somewhere else. This is by far the worst experience I’ve ever had. The course was amazing from tee box to green, the front desk was very friendly,as well as the snack shop. 10/10 for everything but the course Marshall. We planned a bachelor party here for a group of guys and was told that we could all play together 4 days prior to our tee time by someone answering the phones. After playing 5 holes of golf with the group. The high and mighty Marshall comes up and rudely said we needed to split up ( by far could have handled things better without being an asshole.) After splitting up and playing in a smaller groups, We are on the back 9 teeing off when big boy comes by again trying to talk to us as we are hitting. After two of our players tee’d off the wind carried a ball far right and OB as it landed the Marshall felt the need to rudely say “WTF was that?!” Like I said previously, the course is great and I would come back! but after the way we were treated I will do everything in my power to make sure people spend their money elsewhere.

Very good lay out, fun holes. Dogs around the club house. We played in the spring. Tee boxes were mowed very long. Punched greens with not enough sand in them. Carts were very nice. Fairways were in rough condition.
