The Golf Club at Deer Chase

Linn Creek, Missouri, USACentral Missouri

The Golf Club at Deer Chase in Linn Creek, MO offers a well-balanced 18-hole parkland experience with elevated tee boxes, strategic water hazards, and smooth greens. Its versatile layout welcomes golfers of varying skill levels seeking scenic play in Central Missouri’s natural terrain.

Course Overview

Situated in the rolling hills of Linn Creek, Missouri, The Golf Club at Deer Chase is an 18-hole public course that appeals to a wide range of players seeking a blend of challenge and enjoyment. The layout weaves through natural elevation changes, creating a parkland-style experience that rewards thoughtful shot-making without overwhelming less-experienced golfers. Elevated tee boxes offer commanding views that invite strategy and patience more than sheer power.

The course features a thoughtful design where water hazards and bunkers are placed strategically, encouraging risk-reward decisions on several holes. While water is prominent in the landscape, it rarely dominates play for those who find the fairway with a straight tee shot. Smooth, well-maintained greens provide consistent pace and subtle breaks, making the putting surfaces a satisfying test for all skill levels.

The fairways run through a mix of open stretches and tree-lined corridors, offering variety and a chance to adjust play depending on conditions. Several holes incorporate elevation changes that affect club selection and shot trajectory, heightening the sense of immersion in the rugged Missouri terrain. Players will appreciate the balance between approachable holes and those requiring precise execution, making Deer Chase suitable for beginners aiming to develop their game and experienced golfers seeking a solid test.

The clubhouse provides a welcoming atmosphere with a fully stocked pro shop and a casual snack bar that makes it easy to refuel after a round. Golf carts are modern and comfortable, though walking is encouraged to fully immerse oneself in the natural rhythm of the course. Given the course’s condition tends to fluctuate seasonally, spring and early fall are particularly rewarding times to play, when the grass is fresh and the air crisp.

Visitors planning a trip to Deer Chase should bring reliable footwear for navigating some slopes and keep a clear mind for the occasional challenges posed by Missouri winds. Overall, The Golf Club at Deer Chase blends enjoyable playability with scenic touches that promise a memorable day for golfers of all levels.

The Course was very well maintained and our group had an amazing time, on the other hand the course Marshall was very unprofessional. We may not be the best at golf but we were out there to play golf and have a good time. The choice words that he had said while watching some of the guys tee off was very disrespectful and way out of line. Not sure if will end up making it back out Deer Chase golf course bc of this incident with the course Marshall.

If you are planning a trip here. Save your money and go somewhere else. This is by far the worst experience I’ve ever had. The course was amazing from tee box to green, the front desk was very friendly,as well as the snack shop. 10/10 for everything but the course Marshall. We planned a bachelor party here for a group of guys and was told that we could all play together 4 days prior to our tee time by someone answering the phones. After playing 5 holes of golf with the group. The high and mighty Marshall comes up and rudely said we needed to split up ( by far could have handled things better without being an asshole.) After splitting up and playing in a smaller groups, We are on the back 9 teeing off when big boy comes by again trying to talk to us as we are hitting. After two of our players tee’d off the wind carried a ball far right and OB as it landed the Marshall felt the need to rudely say “WTF was that?!” Like I said previously, the course is great and I would come back! but after the way we were treated I will do everything in my power to make sure people spend their money elsewhere.

Very good lay out, fun holes. Dogs around the club house. We played in the spring. Tee boxes were mowed very long. Punched greens with not enough sand in them. Carts were very nice. Fairways were in rough condition.

I really enjoyed the scenery, the many elevated tee boxes, and the course was in excellent condition. Quite a bit of water, but doesn't really come into play, if hitting your driver straight. Several risk vs. reward holes, where less than driver would be fine. I had a great time, and would definitely play it again.
